The Opportunity :

Join our dynamic team as the second shift Director of Housekeeping. This position is responsible for leading and overseeing custodial services, floor care operations, and basic maintenance activities across the main campus, satellite locations, and student activity facilities in support of university-wide operations. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Facilities Operations, this role provides strategic direction, ensures high standards of cleanliness and service delivery, and serves as the primary customer contact for Housekeeping and High Performance Work Team (HPWT) services during the PM shift.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and oversee housekeeping, floor care, basic maintenance, portering, and weekend operations across main campus and satellite facilities.
- Direct daily custodial and maintenance operations, ensuring projects, services, and resources align with operational priorities, timelines, and budget requirements.
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance, custodial, floor care, and pest management programs to maintain campus facilities and service standards.
- Establish policies, procedures, and performance standards while ensuring compliance with UCF guidelines, SOPs, service level expectations, and industry best practices.
- Manage, coach, and develop supervisory and frontline staff, ensuring teams have the training, equipment, and resources needed to deliver high-quality services.
- Conduct facility inspections and campus assessments to monitor cleanliness, maintenance conditions, project progress, and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary liaison for housekeeping operations, fostering strong customer relationships and coordinating service delivery with campus stakeholders and partner units.
- Oversee procurement, vendor services, equipment, and supply management to support operational effectiveness and service excellence.
- Develop and manage departmental operating budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement corrective actions to ensure fiscal responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6) .

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience leading housekeeping, custodial, facilities maintenance, or building operations within a large, complex organization such as a university, healthcare system, government agency, hospitality organization, or commercial campus.
- Demonstrated experience managing large teams through multiple levels of supervision, including workforce planning, employee development, performance management, and labor relations.
- Experience developing and managing operational budgets, including forecasting, resource allocation, contract oversight, and cost control.
- Knowledge of custodial industry standards, floor care programs, cleaning technologies, and best practices for maintaining high-traffic facilities.
- Experience implementing preventative maintenance, quality assurance, inspection, or service-level performance programs to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Experience managing vendor and contractor services, including procurement, contract administration, and service performance monitoring.
- Knowledge of occupational safety regulations, environmental health practices, integrated pest management, and risk mitigation principles applicable to custodial and facilities operations.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience collaborating across departments and responding to operational needs in a service-focused environment.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $90,000 - $135,000. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
