The Opportunity:
University Operations is seeking to hire an Applications Programmer V. This role is responsible for leading designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise Workday applications and integrations. This position serves as a technical expert responsible for driving complex integration projects, supporting critical business systems, and ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of the university's Workday environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of Workday applications, integrations, and related technologies.
- Serve as the primary technical resource for Workday integrations, collaborating with university ladership, functional teams, vendors, and external partners to support business operations.
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance integrations between Workday, PeopleSoft, banking partners, and third-party applications.
- Manage Workday upgrades, environment management activities, and integration projects to ensure system stability and performance.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application, integration, and data-related issues while implementing long-term solutions.
- Design and develop data conversion processes, application components, interfaces, reports, and custom software solutions.
- Create and maintain software integrations and external interfaces using technologies such as Workday Studio, Workday Orchestration, XML, web services, SQR, SQL, Java, and other integration tools.
- Lead programming activities including system design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation of enterprise applications.
- Independently plan, organize, and coordinate complex data processing programs and systems, evaluating performance and recommending process improvements.
- Conduct technical research, data analysis, and special studies to support strategic initiatives and emerging business requirements.
- Manage multiple complex technical projects, including project planning, scheduling, coordination, and oversight of cross-functional teams and technical consultants.
- Provide technical guidance and consultation to university stakeholders, assisting in the resolution of system-related issues and supporting compliance with university policies and standards.
- Evaluate and recommend software enhancements, architecture improvements, and technology solutions to strengthen existing enterprise systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 9 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6) .
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing and supporting Workday integrations across HCM, Finance, Payroll, and Student systems.
- Strong proficiency with Workday Studio, Workday Orchestrate, EIBs, Core Connectors, and web services.
- Experience integrating Workday with ERP, HRIS, financial, banking, and third-party vendor systems.
- Advanced programming experience with SQL, Java, XML, XSLT, and related technologies.
- Experience with data conversion, migration, and enterprise application integration projects.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience leading large-scale technical initiatives and mentoring technical team members.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $89,076 - $115,000. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

This role requires the successful candidate to work on-site at UCF as their primary work location. On-site presence is an essential function of this role.
