Job Title: Market Intelligence, Senior Specialist
Purpose:
The Market Intelligence Senior Specialist delivers market, supplier, category, and risk intelligence that enables informed sourcing and business decisions across GS&P. Through market research, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement, the role translates complex external and internal data into actionable insights, strategic recommendations, and executive-ready presentations. The position supports category strategies, supplier negotiations, planning activities, and risk management efforts while leveraging AI-enabled tools and market intelligence platforms to accelerate insight generation and drive business value.
Major Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Conduct primary and secondary research using market intelligence subscription services, AI-powered research tools, and a range of external data sources, platforms, and internal datasets to enrich market insights.
- Continuously monitor external market conditions, including regulatory, geopolitical, economic, and industry factors impacting supply markets, leveraging AI-enabled research tools and automated monitoring capabilities where appropriate.
- Leverage intelligent agents and AI-enabled solutions to automate market monitoring, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and accelerate insight generation.
- Conduct in-depth market analysis across GS&P categories, including supplier landscapes, cost drivers, pricing trends, commodity indexes, benchmarking insights, and supply/demand dynamics to support sourcing decisions, financial planning, supplier negotiations, and value identification initiatives.
- Identify risks, early warning indicators, and value creation opportunities related to supplier stability, pricing volatility, supply constraints, and market developments, assessing business impacts and providing scenario analysis and recommendations to support proactive decision-making.
- Deliver proactive alerts, trend summaries, scenario-based insights, and recommendations by combining external market intelligence with supplier, contract, spend, and business demand data to support risk mitigation, forward planning, and decision-making.
- Develop structured category intelligence outputs (e.g., market scans, supplier profiles, and intelligence packs) to support sourcing and category strategies.
- Translate complex market and supplier data into clear, actionable insights and executive-ready presentations, dashboards, and written summaries aligned to business priorities.
- Develop compelling executive-level narratives and recommendations that translate complex market intelligence into clear business actions and strategic decisions.
- Partner with Category Managers and sourcing teams to support RFx events, negotiations, supplier selection, and intelligence requirements aligned to specific sourcing initiatives and business questions.
- Support stakeholder understanding of external market conditions impacting pricing, availability, supplier positioning, and sourcing strategies.
- Work closely with P&A, and GS&P stakeholders to integrate intelligence into decision-making processes.
- Contribute to planning cycles by providing market insights into budgeting, forecasting, category strategies, and broader business planning activities.
- Ensure insights support key outcomes including cost optimization, risk reduction, and value delivery.
- Ensure research methodologies are structured, repeatable, and aligned to best practices.
- Build and maintain a centralised market intelligence repository and knowledge base, including templates, frameworks, and reusable outputs to standardize intelligence delivery and ensure insights are accessible, shareable, and consistently maintained across GS&P.
Decision Making:
- Applies independent judgement in analyzing market data and forming actionable insights.
- Recommends sourcing, supplier, and strategy decisions based on market intelligence findings.
- Prioritize intelligence activities based on business value and stakeholder needs.
- Identifies trade-offs across cost, risk, and market dynamics in support of decision-making.
Span of Control (Direct/Indirect reports)
- Individual contributor role with no direct people management responsibility.
- Works across multiple GS&P categories and stakeholder groups.
- Influences decision-making through insights and expertise rather than formal authority.
Scope of Responsibility (i.e. financial impact):
- Supports GS&P value delivery through improved sourcing decisions, pricing insights, and risk mitigation.
- Impacts supplier selection, negotiation outcomes, and category strategy through actionable intelligence.
- Contributes to cost optimization, supplier performance improvement, and overall procurement effectiveness.
Skills/Knowledge:
Technical / Functional Skills
- Strong analytical capability with experience in market analysis, supplier research, and data interpretation.
- Ability to synthesize internal spend, supplier, contract, and business data with external market intelligence to generate actionable recommendations.
- Advanced ability to transform complex qualitative and quantitative data into compelling narratives, executive-ready presentations, dashboards, and visual insights that drive decision-making.
- Strong PowerPoint and presentation development skills, with experience creating clear, visually engaging, and persuasive materials for senior leadership audiences.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled research tools, intelligent agents, and market intelligence platforms.
- Understanding of procurement, sourcing processes, and supply market dynamics.
- Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI or similar) and external market research platforms.
- Familiarity with cost drivers, pricing models, and supplier economics across categories.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex insights and influence business decisions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnering capability, with confidence presenting recommendations to senior leaders and cross-functional teams.

Minimum Formal Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Finance, Analytics, or related discipline preferred (or equivalent experience).
Minimum Experience
- 4+ years of experience in market intelligence, procurement, sourcing, supplier risk, analytics, strategy, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing complex market, supplier, and business data and translating findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Experience developing executive-ready presentations and communicating insights to business stakeholders.
- Experience supporting global stakeholders and working within cross-functional environments.
