Job Description:

Job Title: Market Intelligence Manager

Purpose: The Market Intelligence Manager leads the Market Intelligence function for GS&P, providing strategic market, supplier, category, risk, and economic insights that inform sourcing strategies and business decisions. The role is accountable for the Market Intelligence strategy, operating model, governance, technologies, and team development, while ensuring the function delivers measurable business value. The Manager leads a team of specialists while also personally contributing to some strategic and complex intelligence initiatives. The role also drives innovation through AI-enabled capabilities, external intelligence partnerships, and continuous improvement to enhance decision-making, identify opportunities, and mitigate risk across the organization.

Major Duties/ Responsibilities

- Manage a team of Market Intelligence Senior Specialists and be accountable for the overall effectiveness, adoption, and performance of the Market Intelligence function.
- Coach, develop, and support team members through workload planning, stretch assignments, performance management, succession planning, and talent development
- Allocate resources across strategic priorities while maintaining a balanced and sustainable team workload.
- Set expectations for research quality, business partnering, insight storytelling, executive-ready deliverables, and stakeholder engagement across the team.
- Lead the development and continuous evolution of the Market Intelligence strategy, operating model, governance framework, and delivery standards to ensure alignment with GS&P priorities and measurable business value.
- Establish delivery, prioritization, quality, and performance management processes while driving continuous improvement, technology adoption, and scalable ways of working.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to GS&P leadership by translating market, supplier, category, risk, and economic intelligence into actionable recommendations that support sourcing strategies, supplier negotiations, opportunity identification, and business decision-making.
- Personally lead and deliver the strategic, complex, and high-impact market intelligence engagements while providing direction and oversight across broader team deliverables.
- Conduct and oversee market research, benchmarking, supplier assessments, and opportunity analyses to generate actionable recommendations.
- Actively support project delivery by providing subject matter expertise, quality assurance, executive engagement, and direct contribution to key initiatives when additional leadership, expertise, or capacity is required.
- Own relationships with market intelligence providers, research subscriptions, benchmarking services, data providers, and intelligence platforms, including contracts, renewals, budgets, service performance, and value realization.
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize Market Intelligence tools and technologies to support business needs and data integration.
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled intelligence solutions that combine external market insights with internal business data.
- Develop and maintain an AI-enabled Market Intelligence roadmap aligned with GS&P priorities, technology strategy, and governance requirements.
- Lead the adoption of intelligent agents and AI-enabled solutions for market monitoring, supplier risk management, opportunity identification, and research automation.
- Establish governance, performance measures, and responsible AI practices while evaluating emerging technologies that enhance the effectiveness and scalability of Market Intelligence.

Decision Making:

- Makes decisions on Market Intelligence priorities, operating model, governance standards, quality expectations, and resource allocation.
- Applies independent judgement to evaluate complex market, supplier, risk, pricing, and business data, providing recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Recommends sourcing, supplier, technology, and capability investment decisions, while determining ownership and allocation of high-priority or executive-level requests.

Span of Control (Direct/Indirect reports):

- Leads a team of Market Intelligence Senior Specialists, with accountability for team performance, capability development, workload management, and delivery outcomes.
- Oversee the Market Intelligence capability across multiple GS&P categories, geographies, stakeholder groups, and strategic priorities.
- Influences senior leaders, cross-functional partners, vendors, and technology teams through subject matter expertise, insights, and strategic leadership.

Scope of Responsibility (Financial impact):

- Accountable for the effectiveness, adoption, scalability, and business impact of the Market Intelligence function across GS&P.
- Influences sourcing strategies, supplier decisions, risk management, category planning, and executive decision-making through actionable intelligence and insights.
- Owns intelligence provider relationships, budgets, contracts, and technology investments, while shaping Market Intelligence, data, analytics, and AI roadmaps.

Skills/Knowledge:

Technical / Functional Skills:

- Strong knowledge of market intelligence, procurement, sourcing, supplier research, benchmarking, pricing, cost drivers, and supply market dynamics.
- Strong executive storytelling, presentation development, and data visualization skills, with the ability to communicate complex insights through clear, impactful PowerPoint presentations and executive-ready deliverables.
- Experience designing and governing intelligence methodologies, operating models, knowledge management frameworks, and quality standards.
- Experience implementing and managing market intelligence platforms, research subscriptions, data providers, and related technologies, including AI-enabled research and analytics solutions.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to combine external market intelligence and internal business data to generate actionable recommendations using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and similar platforms.

Leadership / Soft Skills:

- Demonstrated people leadership, including coaching, performance management, workload prioritization, talent development, and succession planning.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior leaders and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills across Procurement, Category Management, Finance, Technology, Data & Analytics, and AI teams.
- Ability to translate complex market, supplier, and business information into clear recommendations.
- Strong commercial judgement, accountability, and ability to balance competing priorities while driving continuous improvement.

Minimum Formal Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Finance, Analytics, or related discipline preferred (or equivalent experience).

Minimum Experience:

- 7+ years of experience in Market Intelligence, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Analytics, Consulting, Supplier Risk Management, or related disciplines.
- 2+ years of experience leading or managing teams.
- Experience developing or enhancing Market Intelligence, research, analytics, or business operating models preferred.
- Experience leading strategic initiatives and presenting insights to senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting global stakeholders and working within cross-functional environments.

- 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM IST
