Mott MacDonald is seeking a skilled and motivated environmental scientist to join our New York City office. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals to plan and design local and regional projects throughout the Northeast. Your work will focus on flood mitigation, sustainable design and reporting, municipal water transmission and distribution, and wastewater collection.

With guidance from our team of professionals, your responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

- Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed technical reports

- Perform site inspections and investigations, and monitor contractor and regulatory compliance

- Develop regulatory permit applications for flood mitigation, water and wastewater infrastructure projects

- Support clients in meeting applicable regulatory requirements and performance metrics

- Coordinate technical work with members of the engineering and construction teams

- Actively participate in project, client, and team meetings

- Review, prepare, and revise technical reports and project documentation

- Interpret reports, specifications, and studies and incorporate relevant findings into studies and designs

- Strengthen your organizational and project-delivery skills as you progress toward project management responsibilities

- Actively participate in our Early Careers Professional Network

We welcome applications from candidates who meet the following qualifications:

- Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies

- Zero to two years of experience in engineering consulting

- Excellent communication and technical writing abilities, strong organizational skills, and strong technical aptitude

- Advanced use of Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, MS Projects, and Teams), Power BI, sustainability reporting tools and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Benefits & Rewards

The expected salary for this position is $74,000 - $91,000.

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
