Division Overview
The Trucking Division specializes in providing insurance solutions for the commercial transportation industry, serving a broad range of businesses and independent contractors operating in today's evolving marketplace. The division supports traditional trucking operations as well as on-demand and gig economy delivery services, helping clients manage risk and navigate complex claims situations. Through specialized underwriting, claims expertise, and customer-focused service, the team plays a critical role in delivering responsive solutions and protecting the interests of policyholders and injured parties alike.
Position Overview
The Senior Claims Representative/Claims Representative is responsible for independently managing a caseload of injury-related claims from initial assignment through resolution. This role investigates and evaluates bodily injury claims involving commercial transportation, independent contractors, and gig economy delivery workers, while developing effective claim strategies and driving timely resolutions. The position requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage a high-volume inventory of complex, high-touch claims.

To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on‑site four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in‑office days are Tuesday–Thursday, with the fourth day determined by business needs.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and manage bodily injury claims from initial assignment through resolution.
- Gather, analyze, and evaluate claim information, including medical records, accident reports, statements, and policy documentation.
- Assess liability, injury severity, medical treatment, disability exposure, and overall claim value.
- Develop and execute claim strategies that drive timely and appropriate claim resolution.
- Establish and adjust claim reserves based on evolving claim exposure and available information.
- Maintain regular communication with claimants, attorneys, medical providers, policyholders, and other involved parties.
- Identify coverage issues, inconsistencies, and additional investigation needs to support sound claim decisions.
- Make timely claim determinations within authority levels and escalate complex matters as appropriate.
- Negotiate settlements and issue claim payments accurately and in accordance with company guidelines.
- Manage a high-volume inventory of approximately 80-90 claims, including 1-3 new claims daily, while prioritizing competing responsibilities.
- Maintain thorough claim documentation and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members, leadership, and business partners to support claim outcomes and customer service goals
Qualifications
- Generally, 2-5 years of claims handling experience, with bodily injury or injury-related claims experience preferred.
- Experience independently investigating, evaluating, and resolving claims.
- Knowledge of bodily injury claim handling, medical terminology, treatment, and disability-related exposures.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and prioritize competing responsibilities effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
