Derive business processes, analyze user needs, assist in requirements definition, design browser-based interfaces, and design and conduct usability testing
Elicit business goals and user needs from stakeholders
Facilitate customer discovery sessions
Create Conceptual Models, Journey Maps, Personas and Scenarios of Use
Create and refine screen prototypes
Document user requirements, screen designs, and design recommendations
Required Skills:
These skills will help you succeed in this position:
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis
- Must have prior SSA experience
- Minimum of 8 years of direct Interaction/Interface design experience in User-Centered Methods and User Analysis
- Minimum of 8 years of experience documenting user requirements, screen designs, and design recommendations
- Minimum of 8 year of experience in designing and conducting formative usability tests in both formal and informal settings
- Minimum of 8 year of experience preparing and presenting findings and recommendations in small and large group settings
Desired Skills:
Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:
- Experience using Axure RP and/or Figma prototyping software to build wireframes or interactive prototypes
- Demonstrated understanding of responsive design methodologies, especially as it applies to the creation of web applications
- Prior experience supporting government agencies at the local, state, or federal level
- Experience working as an embedded member of a cross-functional Agile/Scrum team, participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria that translate design and research findings into actionable development work
- Experience collaborating directly with front-end developers during implementation, including design handoff, design QA, and reviewing builds for fidelity to the approved designs
- Familiarity with design systems and component libraries (such as U.S. Web Design System), and a working understanding of how designs are built with HTML, CSS, and common front-end frameworks
- Experience using Agile tools such as Jira, Agility, and Confluence to track design work, manage tickets, and document decisions within the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience building and maintaining design systems including reusable web components using an established web standards (like WC3)
- Experience with Pega and/or ServiceNow platforms
- Understanding of Section 508 and its requirements regarding design
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 8 Years of relevant work experience OR Master's degree and 6 Years of relevant work experience as a User Experience Specialist or a minimum of 12 years related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Must have prior SSA experience
- Other Certifications: UX Master Certification (NNG), UX Design Immersive (General Assembly)
- Must provide a digital portfolio of design work for review
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust

## Pay Range:
Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
