Jr. Systems Engineer – Newport News, VA

Position Overview
Leidos Gibbs & Cox, is seeking a Jr. Systems Engineer to support various programs. In this role, you will coordinate with engineering and design organizations to verify, update, and maintain requirements and configuration control documentation.
This position reports to the Gibbs & Cox Systems Engineering Department Manager and interfaces with Program Managers across various contracts. The position is based in our Newport News, Virginia office.
The engineer will work on change orders and planning activities to support program objectives and milestones.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage requirements and specifications, ensuring approved design changes are accurately reflected in technical documentation and incorporated in accordance with the design, authorized work orders, and shipyard processes.
- Communicate with designers and engineering personnel to verify requirements and design changes and ensure technical documentation accurately reflects approved configurations.
- Review changes associated with electrical, structural, and mechanical systems and identify impacts to related drawings, documents, and configuration records.
Basic Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Knowledge and/or experience with Systems Engineering methodologies, including but not limited to requirements gathering and configuration management.
- Knowledge and/or experience with verification and validation.
- Demonstrated collaboration and communication skills working in teams.
- Eligible to obtain at least an interim Secret clearance prior to starting employment (U.S. citizenship required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance.
- Experience with DOORS or CAMEO requirements management.
- Experience with shipyard design or planning .

## Pay Range:
Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
