Join Our Team as a Design Engineer!

The Design Engineer supports the execution of power system studies, engineering analyses, and technical evaluations for transmission and/or distribution system projects. This role applies foundational engineering principles and knowledge of electric power systems to perform system modeling, analytical studies, calculations, and technical documentation while developing consulting and engineering expertise under the guidance of senior team members. The Design Engineer is responsible for completing assigned technical work, contributing to study deliverables, and maintaining the quality and accuracy of engineering outputs. The role collaborates with internal and cross-functional teams and may participate in customer interactions under supervision. Success in this position is demonstrated through technical growth, effective execution of assigned work, and the development of increasingly independent engineering judgment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Power System Studies Support : Assist in performing power system studies and providing consulting services for transmission and/or distribution projects—including power system protection, system planning, interconnection, DER integration, and microgrid analyses—under close guidance from senior team members.
- Technical Documentation : Assist in the preparation, organization, and maintenance of engineering reports, calculations, study results, and other project documentation.
- Problem-Solving Skills : Apply basic engineering principles to support analysis and assist in resolving technical issues using established tools and methods.
- Project Support : Complete assigned technical tasks in support of project execution, helping meet project schedules, quality expectations, and deliverable requirements.
- Technical Review Assistance : Review assigned work products for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established engineering standards and project requirements before submission for technical review.
- Team Collaboration : Work collaboratively with project teams, actively seeking guidance and incorporating feedback from experienced engineers to support successful project outcomes.
- Department Support : Assist with technical activities such as data collection, model setup, simulations, and report preparation.
- Project Communication : Communicate project status and progress on assigned tasks to team members and supervisors. Participate in internal meetings and limited customer interactions under supervision.
- Cross-Functional Support : Coordinate with internal teams to obtain project information, resolve data gaps, and support study execution and deliverable development.
- Professional Development : Develop technical competency and consulting skills through training, mentoring, self-development, and hands-on project experience.
- Professional Conduct : Demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and professionalism in completing assigned tasks.
- Policy Compliance : Follow company policies, procedures, and safety requirements in all assigned work.
