Job Title: Wiring Harness Design Release Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a Wiring Harness Design Release Engineer to join our team. The role involves designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems. The ideal candidate will determine design approaches and parameters, analyze equipment to establish operating data, and conduct experimental tests to evaluate results. You will be responsible for selecting components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Work with designers to package wiring harnesses in vehicles using Stellantis design guidelines.
- Support vehicle build events at the customer site.
- Incorporate Versigents Design for Manufacturability (DFM) guidelines into the design.
- Support cost reduction initiatives.
- Specify, document, and coordinate engineering changes.
- Issue documentation to authorize design changes and track costs.
- Review warranty claims to identify design improvements.
Essential Skills
- High level of analytical ability to solve unusual and difficult problems.
- Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design.
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Thorough knowledge of advanced engineering methods, tools, and procedures.
- Knowledge of design, development and test engineering, manufacturing processes, assembly operations, and Central Office functions.
- 15-17 years of related work experience.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial preferred).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Graduate degree preferred.
- Experience in the automotive industry with a minimum of 3 years in Wiring Harness Design Release Engineering.
- Familiarity with Stellantis design guidelines is highly preferred.
- Logical thinking to solve design issues.
- Willingness to travel to Versigent Manufacturing sites in Mexico and customer sites.
- Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products.
Work Environment
The position may require travel up to 20% of the time to Versigent Manufacturing sites in Mexico and customer sites. While primarily based at a customer site, there may be opportunities to work remotely as needed. The role requires effective communication and collaboration in a dynamic customer environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Troy, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $62.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
