This role works with irreplaceable samples and plays a critical role in maintaining specimen integrity, supporting laboratory operations, and ensuring compliance with established quality standards and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES Receive and process specimen shipments from multiple couriers Open, inspect, and properly handle incoming specimen shipments Maintain specimen integrity and temperature requirements during processing Scan shipments and update specimen information within internal databases Sort and route specimens according to established procedures Perform quality control checks on specimens, requisitions, and materials Enter patient demographics and administrative information accurately Image and archive requisition documents for laboratory records Process specimen kits and perform manual aliquoting when required Operate, maintain, and clean laboratory equipment and automation systems Identify and resolve shipment discrepancies or misrouted specimens Follow all SOPs, quality standards, and laboratory safety procedures ESSENTIAL SKILLS High School Diploma or GED required Minimum 1 year of applicable work experience Strong attention to detail and accuracy Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to follow detailed procedures and instructions Strong organizational and documentation skills Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and Word Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively Excellent communication and teamwork skills WORK ENVIRONMENT This position is based in a laboratory setting supporting the bio-pharma division, including pathology and histology operations. The environment is highly process-driven and requires attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to quality procedures. Team members work closely together to ensure the proper handling of critical patient and clinical trial specimens. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
