GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Clinical Lead supports the Adult Outpatient Director with the day-to-day clinical and administrative oversight of Adult Outpatient. This position provides direct clinical services to clients and assists with the supervision and oversight of the outpatient clinical team. The Clinical Lead oversees the Adult Outpatient Open Access/Walk-In process, including triaging walk-ins and referrals, and provides supervision to clinical interns and/or associate-level clinicians. The position requires flexibility in scheduling and may include evening hours.
SUPERVISION: Supervised by: Director of Adult Outpatient
Supervises: Master level Clinicians and/or Interns as designated by supervisor.
EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide comprehensive evaluations, treatment plans and treatment of adult clients and their families. This includes evaluation/assessment; group, individual and family therapy, crisis intervention, treatment and discharge planning.
- Responsible for triage of new referrals, provide client orientation/screening and to assign cases based on clinical needs and staff expertise and crisis management with new or established clients and their families.
- Work with the multi-disciplinary team of medical staff, Recovery Support Specialists and Case Managers to assess risk and safety and connect clients to appropriate levels of care and/or services.
- Supervise assigned clinical staff and/or interns including clinical supervision, second signing of documention, ensuring documentation expectations are met, completing performance evaluations and addressing any disciplinary concerns.
- Provide clinical coverage in other absences and maintain a caseload as assigned by the Director of Adult Outpatient.
- Work with the Director to provide consistent clinical leadership to the clinical and administrative team. May include facilitation of rounds, group supervision and training.
- Assist with second signing and reviewing documentation for Senior Clinicians, Clinicians and Interns. Assist with record reviews, clinical observation, training and in ensuring the program is providing high quality and accessible care.
- Participate in community outreach events and activities. May serve on an agency and/or community committee.
- May be assigned on call responsibilities as determined by the Director and/or Vice President of Adult Services.
- Other such duties as assigned by the Director and/or Vice President of Adult Services.
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A masters degree in social work along with a Connecticut State license from the Department of Public Health (LCSW), a Connecticut license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Experience in working with clients diagnosed with substance use disorders. L.A.D.C is not required but welcomed in addition to primary licensure. Two years of post-graduate clinical experience working with adults is required, four years experience is preferred.
Training preferred on the following topics; Treatment Criteria for Addictive, Substance-Related, and Co-Occurring Conditions (ASAM), Co-occurring disorders, including prevalence, signs/symptoms, assessment, treatment and the impact of ones own attitudes/beliefs on the delivery of services and the use of naloxone in response to an opioid overdose.
