How will you make an impact?
Manage Material Requirements Planning (MRP) activities to ensure material supply aligns with customer demand while optimizing inventory, cost, supplier performance, and overall supply chain efficiency. Drive sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, cost reduction initiatives, and procurement activities that support operational and customer success.
What will you do?
- Manage MRP activities to ensure adequate material supply while minimizing inventory costs.
- Develop supply base strategies and supply chain solutions tailored to customer and business unit requirements.
- Support customer business needs through standard processes and customized supply chain solutions when necessary.
- Collaborate with Purchasing Management and Supply Chain Management teams to determine the best sourcing and procurement strategies.
- Influence customers' supply chain strategies to align with and leverage Jabil's capabilities and preferred supplier network.
- Communicate Jabil expectations to suppliers regarding delivery, quality, cost, and service requirements.
- Conduct supplier audits, site visits, performance reviews, and certification activities.
- Drive continuous improvement of supplier performance through regular monitoring and feedback.
- Obtain delivery, quality, and service performance feedback from Materials Planners.
- Support and execute Supply Chain Management initiatives and strategic sourcing programs.
- Quote new and existing materials and participate in material cost analysis activities.
- Re-quote and negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost reduction opportunities.
- Make sourcing decisions based on total cost considerations including price, freight, duties, quality, service, flexibility, and supplier performance.
- Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions, stocking agreements, liability terms, and other supplier agreements.
- Ensure execution of Jabil purchasing agreements, pricing structures, and global supplier contracts.
- Work with customers to expand Approved Manufacturer Lists (AML) and increase adoption of preferred and strategic suppliers.
- Analyze and forecast component pricing to support standard costing and inventory valuation processes.
- Support customer quoting activities by providing competitive and accurate material cost information.
- Optimize Material Price Variance (MPV) through effective sourcing and cost management practices.
- Partner with Business Unit Managers to obtain customer approval for premium freight, material premiums, tooling, and other customer-incurred expenses.
- Collaborate with Materials Planners to ensure supplier performance supports production and business requirements.
- Track, monitor, and improve supplier delivery, quality, and service performance.
- Support overall business objectives through effective supplier management and procurement planning.
- Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position.
- Comply with all procedures within the company security policy.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
How will you get here?
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Experience:
- Experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Purchasing, Materials Planning, MRP, or related operations functions.
- Experience negotiating pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements preferred.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and driving supplier performance improvements.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, logistics, or inventory management operations preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and supply chain management principles.
- Knowledge of purchasing, sourcing, supplier management, and inventory control practices.
- Ability to develop sourcing strategies and supply chain solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Experience negotiating supplier pricing, contracts, and commercial terms.
- Ability to evaluate sourcing decisions based on total cost, risk, flexibility, quality, and service.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data.
- Ability to calculate discounts, percentages, ratios, commissions, costs, and other financial metrics.
- Ability to apply algebraic and geometric concepts in business and operational analyses.
- Ability to analyze material pricing, inventory value, and cost variance data.
- Knowledge of Material Price Variance (MPV), Purchase Price Variance (PPV), and standard costing principles.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information to customers, suppliers, management, and business partners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to define problems, gather facts, analyze information, and develop practical solutions.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to utilize supply chain and procurement software tools effectively.
- Ability to interpret graphs, trends, and business metrics.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- U.S. Citizenship required for site-specific security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in electronics manufacturing or high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Experience with ERP and MRP systems.
- Strategic sourcing and supplier development experience.
- Experience conducting supplier audits and performance reviews.
- Knowledge of inventory optimization and demand planning methodologies.
- Experience with cost modeling, quoting, and materials pricing analysis.
- APICS/ASCM, CPSM, CPM, or other supply chain certifications preferred.
- Experience supporting global supply chains and international suppliers.
- Proven track record of driving cost reduction and supplier performance improvement initiatives.
