About this role

Key Responsibilities

- Perform glass beading and related fiber optic manufacturing processes according to established work instructions and procedures.

- Prepare, clean, foil, and maintain coating chambers and associated production equipment .

- Support all aspects of the fiber optic coating department , including equipment preparation, cleaning, material handling, setup, and changeover activities.

- Assist with routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting under the direction of experienced technicians or supervisors.

- Monitor production processes and identify abnormal conditions, defects, or equipment issues.

- Perform visual inspections and basic quality checks to ensure product meets specifications.

- Follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, and quality standards.

- Accurately complete production records, checklists, logs, and other required documentation.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S and company standards.

- Handle production materials and tools safely and appropriately.

- Support production line changeovers, cleaning activities, and other department needs as assigned.

- Work effectively as part of a team in a high-volume manufacturing environment .

- Communicate production, quality, safety, and equipment concerns promptly to supervisors or appropriate support personnel.

- Perform other manufacturing-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED required.

- Minimum 1 year of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment .

- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently follow standardized processes.

- Ability to perform repetitive production tasks while maintaining quality and productivity.

- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn manufacturing equipment and processes.

- Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment, chemicals, and production materials.

- Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic or paper production documentation.

- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in fiber optics, optical communications, cable manufacturing, electronics, semiconductor, or other precision manufacturing environments.

- Experience working with coating, extrusion, winding, or similar continuous manufacturing processes.

- Experience with equipment cleaning, setup, changeover, or basic troubleshooting.

- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or other continuous-improvement practices.

- Mechanical or technical training beyond high school.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.

- Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements associated with manufacturing operations.

- Ability to lift and move materials and equipment within established safety guidelines.

- Ability to work around manufacturing equipment and production chemicals while following required PPE and safety procedures.

- Ability to maintain visual attention to small components and detailed manufacturing processes.

Work Environment

This position is performed in a high-volume manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to manufacturing equipment, production chemicals, noise, and temperature variations. Employees are expected to follow all applicable safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Basic knowledge of safety protocols in a manufacturing setting.
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
