Position Summary

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day operation of warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, inventory control, material movement, picking, staging, shipping, and warehouse personnel.

This position ensures materials and finished goods are handled safely, accurately, and efficiently while supporting production schedules and customer delivery requirements. The Warehouse Manager partners closely with Production, Quality, Customer Service, Procurement, and Logistics to maintain inventory accuracy, improve material flow, and support on-time, in-full (OTIF) performance.

Responsibilities will include:

- Lead and oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, storage, material staging, picking, shipping, and inventory control.

- Manage, coach, develop, and hold warehouse employees accountable for safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and performance expectations.

- Plan staffing and workload to support production schedules, inbound receipts, customer shipments, and changing business priorities.

- Ensure raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, and other inventory are properly received, labeled, stored, staged, and transferred.

- Maintain accurate inventory records within the company's ERP and warehouse systems.

- Monitor inventory accuracy and investigate discrepancies, transaction errors, shortages, and other inventory issues.

- Establish and maintain cycle-counting processes and support physical inventory activities.

- Partner with Production to ensure materials are staged and available when needed to minimize production delays.

- Coordinate with Customer Service and Logistics to support accurate and timely customer shipments.

- Partner with Procurement to address material shortages, receiving discrepancies, and supplier-related issues.

- Work closely with Quality to ensure materials are appropriately controlled based on quality status, including released, quarantined, rejected, or returned materials.

- Ensure warehouse activities comply with company procedures, GMP requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

- Maintain proper lot control, traceability, and documentation as required.

- Monitor warehouse capacity, storage utilization, organization, and material flow and recommend improvements.

- Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, inventory accuracy, safety, and customer service.

- Develop, maintain, and monitor warehouse key performance indicators, including inventory accuracy, shipping accuracy, productivity, receiving performance, OTIF support, and cycle-count accuracy.

- Ensure employees follow established safety procedures, including forklift requirements, material-handling practices, PPE requirements, and other applicable safety standards.

- Conduct routine warehouse safety inspections and promptly address unsafe conditions or behaviors.

- Ensure warehouse equipment is properly maintained and coordinate repairs or replacement as necessary.

- Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions involving warehouse operations.

- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions for warehouse processes.

- Ensure employees are properly trained and training documentation is maintained.

- Conduct performance discussions, coaching, corrective action, and performance reviews in partnership with Human Resources.

- Support employee development, cross-training, succession planning, and employee retention initiatives.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional warehouse environment.

- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits as required.

- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Experience & Knowledge

- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing experience preferred.

- Minimum of 2–3 years of warehouse leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

- Experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

- Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems required; Sage ERP experience is a plus.

- Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, shipping/receiving, and material handling required.

- Experience in a GMP, food, chemical, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or other regulated manufacturing environment preferred.

- Strong warehouse and inventory management knowledge.

- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee-development skills.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

- Strong understanding of inventory accuracy, lot control, material traceability, and warehouse transactions.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across departments and organizational levels.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

- Working knowledge of ERP and inventory-management systems.

- Understanding of lean manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, and warehouse optimization principles preferred.

- Knowledge of OSHA requirements and warehouse safety practices.

- Ability to lead through change and establish accountability within the team.

Physical Demand

- Ability to regularly walk and stand throughout a warehouse and manufacturing environment.

- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, climb, and perform other movements associated with warehouse operations.

- Ability to work around forklifts, pallet jacks, trucks, manufacturing equipment, and other material-handling equipment.

- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Must be able to work in warehouse and manufacturing environments where temperatures, noise levels, dust, or other conditions may vary.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises warehouse employees and may oversee Warehouse Leads, Warehouse Assistants, Warehouse Drivers, Shipping/Receiving personnel, and other warehouse-related positions.

Responsibilities include interviewing, training, scheduling, coaching, performance management, employee development, and ensuring appropriate staffing levels to meet operational requirements.

Work Environment

This position works in both office and warehouse/manufacturing environments. The Warehouse Manager is expected to maintain a regular presence on the warehouse floor and actively engage with employees and operational activities.

The position may require flexibility in working hours to support multiple shifts, inventory activities, customer requirements, operational issues, and business needs.
