Job Summary:
Keystone Lodge, a 152-room mountain resort hotel, is seeking an energetic, service-focused Banquet Captain to lead banquet events and deliver exceptional guest experiences. The Banquet Captain is responsible for overseeing the setup, execution, and breakdown of meetings, conferences, weddings, social events, and catered functions while providing hands-on leadership to banquet staff.
This hourly leadership role serves as the primary point of contact during events, ensuring service standards, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence are consistently achieved. Due to the seasonal nature of banquet business, the successful candidate must be flexible and willing to provide leadership support throughout the Food & Beverage operation as business levels require. This may include working as a host, server, bartender, or team lead in other restaurant and outlet operations.

Job Responsibilities:
Event Operations:
- Lead and participate in the physical setup and breakdown of banquet events, including tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, buffets, bars, audiovisual equipment, and event décor.
- Ensure all event spaces are set precisely according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and Keystone Lodge standards.
- Maintain exceptional attention to detail in room presentation, table settings, event timing, and overall guest experience.
- Conduct thorough room inspections before, during, and after events to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
- Coordinate closely with culinary, stewarding, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless event execution.
Team Leadership:
- Lead banquet team members by setting clear expectations and holding staff accountable to Keystone Lodge's service standards.
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and real-time feedback to promote service excellence and operational consistency.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and guest-focused service.
- Act as a role model by maintaining a strong work ethic and a willingness to work alongside the team in all aspects of event execution.
Operational Flexibility:
- Support other Food & Beverage outlets and operations when banquet business levels fluctuate.
- Serve as a working team leader in restaurant and bar operations as needed.
- Assist with hosting, serving, food running, bartending support, and other operational duties to meet business demands.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all Food & Beverage service standards and procedures throughout the hotel.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of banquet, restaurant, or hospitality experience.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.
- Strong ability to organize, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality guest experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, enforce standards, and hold team members accountable in a positive and professional manner.
- Flexible schedule with availability to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on business needs.
- Ability and willingness to work across multiple Food & Beverage outlets throughout the year.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a shift.
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and carrying equipment required for event setup and breakdown.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work associated with banquet operations.
- Ability to work long hours during peak event periods while maintaining a positive attitude and high level of service.

The expected pay range is $21.50/hr - $26.88/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
