The Physical Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of the Manager of Therapy Services and assists the Physical Therapist with rehabilitative activities to help reduce pain and improve mobility. Assists in exercise instruction and demonstration, patient evaluation and testing.

Mercy is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced Physical Therapists to help patients regain strength, reduce pain, restore mobility, and achieve their highest level of independence. What You'll Do
- Partner with Physical Therapists to implement individualized treatment plans
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and mobility activities
- Assist with patient evaluations, functional testing, and treatment progression
- Educate and motivate patients throughout their rehabilitation journey
- Help create a positive, patient-centered experience focused on achieving goals and improving quality of life
Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Associate's degree required
Licensure & Certifications
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the applicable state
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA)
- BLS certification required within 3 months of hire
Experience
- Less than one year of experience required
- New graduates encouraged to apply
Preferred Qualifications
- One to two years of Physical Therapy experience
- Proven success delivering quality patient care in a rehabilitation setting
