ROLE OVERVIEW

The Manager, Benefits, Perks & Leaves is a senior individual contributor responsible for managing, supporting, and continuously improving Tracxtion’s benefits, employee perks, leaves, and workplace accommodation programs for 800+ employees across the Tracxtion collective of agencies.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, People & Culture, this role serves as the subject matter expert and primary program lead, partnering with People & Culture, Payroll, Finance, Legal, business leaders, brokers, insurers, and external vendors to deliver consistent, compliant, and employee-focused programs.

The role will manage day-to-day program administration and governance, support employees and leaders through key processes and complex cases, and identify opportunities to improve programs, systems, and the overall employee experience.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage

- Manage benefits programs across Canada and the United States, including enrolments, eligibility changes, life events, terminations, reconciliations, audits, and annual renewals.

- Manage parental, medical, disability, personal, statutory, and other leave processes, including documentation, timelines, benefit continuation, payroll impacts, and return-to-work planning.

- Manage workplace accommodation processes in partnership with employees, leaders, People & Culture, and appropriate advisors.

- Manage employee perk and wellbeing programs, including enrolments, communications, participation, utilization, and program costs.

- Manage relationships with brokers, insurers, benefits providers, wellbeing partners, and other external vendors.

- Maintain accurate policies, procedures, employee resources, case records, approvals, and audit documentation.

- Monitor program compliance with applicable Canadian and U.S. requirements and escalate legal or high-risk matters as appropriate.

Support

- Serve as a key point of contact and subject matter expert for benefits, leaves, accommodations, perks, and wellbeing programs.

- Support employees and managers with clear, practical guidance throughout benefits, leave, accommodation, and return-to-work processes.

- Partner closely with People & Culture, Payroll, Finance, Legal, IT, and business leaders to ensure accurate and timely program delivery.

- Resolve escalated coverage, eligibility, vendor, payroll, and employee service issues.

- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, benefits of renewals, vendor evaluations, and program planning.

- Support integrating and harmonizing programs across Tracxtion’s growing North American group of companies.

Improve

- Identify opportunities to simplify and standardize benefits, leave, accommodation, perk, and wellbeing processes across the organization.

- Develop reporting and dashboards to track program costs, participation, utilization, leave activity, service levels, and employee trends.

- Use employee feedback, market practices, and program data to recommend enhancements.

- Improve vendor performance, employee communications, documentation, controls, and service delivery.

- Leverage HR technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and accuracy while protecting employee confidentiality.

- Help create a consistent, supportive employee experience while recognizing legitimate differences between Canadian and U.S. requirements.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years of direct experience with benefits, leaves, accommodations, or related programs.

- Experience supporting employees and programs across both Canada and the United States.

- Experience working within a large, multi-entity, or geographically dispersed organization.

- Strong knowledge of benefits administration, leave management, disability processes, and workplace accommodations.

- Experience managing benefits renewals and working with brokers, insurers, and third-party vendors.

- Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. employment, leave, benefits, privacy, and accommodation requirements.

- Strong analytical, organizational, project-management, and problem-solving skills.

- Strong judgment when handling confidential and sensitive employee matters.

- Ability to communicate complex programs and processes clearly and practically.

- Experience with HRIS, payroll, benefits administration, and reporting platforms.

- Ability to manage competing priorities and time-sensitive employee matters.

- A Canadian or U.S. HR, benefits, or leave-management designation is an asset.

This is a hybrid Toronto-based opportunity with regular in-office collaboration.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $75,000-$90,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, level of responsibility, internal equity, and business needs. This range represents the expected base salary for this role and does not include other elements of SALT/Tracxtion's total rewards program.
