Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Ground Systems Computer HW Engineer to join the Compute Integrated Product Team (IPT) of a new ground-based radar supporting Space Domain Awareness (SDA). As a Computer HW Engineer you will be a key member of the team responsible for designing, standing up, and sustaining several high-performance computer environments supporting the radar systems digital signal processing and mission software. This role will be reporting to the Compute IPT lead and work collaboratively with other functional disciplines to design, document and implement a computer system that will meet operational requirements for the system. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundational knowledge of computer systems (i.e., hardware components, applications, operating systems), HW baseline design and change control management, and be able to collaboratively apply systems engineering principles to successfully design, procure, plan and integrate computer systems for the radar system.

Job Duties Include:

- Collaboratively define and document the computer system design
- Develop Cameo models and engineering Bill of Materials
- Determine systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security
- Support the design and integration of the various computer environments
- Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies
- Develop and recommend corrective actions
- Work hands on with other engineers to build, integrate and checkout computer system components or subsystems
- Collaborate with systems engineering, computer system architects, cybersecurity engineers, SW engineers, and other functions directly supporting the compute IPT to achieve IPT goals

This requisition may be filled at a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled as either a level 3 or level 4.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:

- Must have an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with requirements decomposition and derivation down to hardware subsystem and hardware component level specifications
- Able to read and help develop engineering drawings compliant to ASME Standards
- Able to create bill of materials, perform trade studies, and drive the HW baseline and change process
- Familiar with a broad set of commercial hardware system components (i.e., servers, switches, routers, network-attached (storage), and fiber optic modules)
- Previous experience working within an Agile environment
- Experience with Atlassian tool sets (JIRA, Confluence)
- Previous experience supporting development programs during the major design milestones (i.e. SRR, PDR, CDR)
- Familiar with material procurement driven through PLM tools (i.e. Teamcenter) and official HW technical baselines (i.e. Released Engineering Drawings)
- Familiar with cable standards and types
- Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications :

- Technical Degree within Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Active TS clearance
- 5 or more years of experience on ground-based programs supporting SATCOM, OPIR, SDA or similar missions
- Familiar with designing and implementing IT environments that leverage one or more of the following: HPE High-Performance Compute GPU Servers
- Virtualization
- High Speed Network architectures
- RedHat Linux based operating systems
- VMware products (i.e., vCenter, vSphere, NSX, Tanzu, Avi Load Balancer)

- Able to work within a Lab environment
- Experience working within CAMEO
- Ability to travel up to 25%

#SPEnhancedERAP

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
