Position Overview
Compassion Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and compassionate Clinical Director to provide leadership and oversight of our growing clinical services department.
This senior leadership position is responsible for clinical supervision, program management, staff development, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance across our behavioral health continuum of care. The Clinical Director will oversee a multidisciplinary team serving approximately 60-70 outpatient clients, with continued growth expected, while also providing clinical oversight and support for our 50-bed FARR-accredited recovery residence program.
The ideal candidate is a licensed clinician with demonstrated experience leading clinical teams, supervising staff, managing operations, and ensuring excellence in client care and documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Program Oversight
- Provide leadership, supervision, and support to all clinical staff, including therapists, case managers, group facilitators, client care coordinators, and other clinical personnel.
- Serve as a member of the organization's leadership team and contribute to strategic planning, program development, and organizational growth initiatives.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment services.
- Oversee all clinical programming and ensure services are delivered in accordance with organizational policies and best practices.
- Monitor clinical operations, staffing, productivity, documentation standards, and service outcomes.
Staff Supervision & Development
- Provide clinical supervision to licensed and registered clinicians.
- Mentor, coach, and develop clinical staff to support professional growth and clinical excellence.
- Conduct performance evaluations and oversee corrective action processes when necessary.
- Identify training needs and implement ongoing education to ensure compliance with clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and accreditation requirements, including FARR, DCF, AHCA, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards.
- Oversee the completion and quality of all clinical documentation, including assessments, biopsychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Conduct chart audits and quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Serve as the primary clinical contact during audits, inspections, and accreditation reviews.
Program Management
- Coordinate multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and clinical case reviews.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to support program expansion, census growth, and service development.
- Ensure effective communication between clinical, medical, housing, admissions, and operations teams.
- Assist in developing policies, procedures, and clinical workflows that support organizational goals.
Direct Clinical Services
- Provide clinical assessments, diagnostic evaluations, crisis intervention, and consultation as needed.
- Assist with high-acuity cases and complex clinical situations.
- Support clinical decision-making and ensure appropriate treatment planning throughout the continuum of care.
Qualifications
Required
- Active Florida LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT license in good standing.
- Qualified Supervisor status in the State of Florida.
- Minimum of 3 years of management and supervisory experience within behavioral health, mental health, or substance use treatment settings.
- Experience supervising multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health documentation, compliance standards, and evidence-based treatment practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Experience overseeing PHP, IOP, outpatient, residential, or recovery residence programs.
- 5+ years of management/supervisory experience
- Experience working within growing behavioral health organizations.
- Familiarity with FARR accreditation standards and quality assurance processes.
- Experience with electronic health records and clinical data reporting.
