Job Overview:

Weatherford has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Director Production & Intervention (PRI) Manufacturing to join the team in Houston.

Reporting to the VP Fulfillment, the Director PRI Manufacturing is a critical leadership role across the Weatherford organization, with responsibility for the performance and strategic direction of multiple manufacturing facilities supporting the PRI portfolio.

The Director PRI Manufacturing will lead and develop manufacturing teams across the network and drive safe, reliable, efficient, and cost-effective operations through strong manufacturing and production management, Lean Manufacturing implementation and execution, supply chain coordination, quality assurance, inventory control, and disciplined use of manufacturing systems.

The role partners closely with plant leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to align capacity, footprint, talent, technology, and operational priorities across facilities and to deliver consistent performance against customer and business requirements.

In addition, the Director will support the integration of NCS Multistage Holdings following its acquisition by Weatherford, with specific focus on the synergies of their production line with the existing Weatherford manufacturing footprint. This includes evaluating manufacturing capabilities, capacity, processes, systems, and site roles; identifying opportunities for alignment, optimization, and standardization; and supporting a coordinated integration plan that maintains business continuity while strengthening the combined manufacturing network.

The successful candidate must be an effective communicator who can work across all levels of the organization and provide clear leadership across geographically dispersed operations.

Responsibilities:

OPERATIONS

- Effectively lead cross-functional manufacturing teams across multiple facilities to optimize the use of manpower, materials, and equipment and advance productivity and quality improvement initiatives.
- Responsible for implementing the strategy and long-term planning for the PRI manufacturing network to ensure continued success in meeting customer expectations.
- Interface with Company engineers, strategic sourcing, project management, human resources, logistics, customer service, and accounting personnel regarding facility issues, process optimization, methods development, personnel development, outside supplier development, strategic project implementation, quotes and order management, and for analyzing and preparing monthly financial reporting presentations.
- A Lean Manufacturing expert able to demonstrate success working with disciplines of Daily Management, Kaizen, Tact Time/Cycle Time analysis, Value Stream Mapping, Waste Elimination, Gemba Walks, Visual Management and other relevant Lean tactics to drive plant performance success.
- Develop and standardize processes and systems across facilities and functional teams to improve manufacturing KPIs such as productivity, job cost variance, purchase price variance, gross expense reduction, OTD, general cost reduction, and inventory management, while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and on-time shipment.
- Support the implementation and sustaining efforts to promote and execute new techniques and products, purchase and use of new machinery or equipment and optimize staff levels.
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

- Design and develop manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems across the manufacturing network to improve process capability, quality, and manufacturing readiness.

COMMUNICATION

- Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external.
- Supervisors and Managers should clearly communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities to their reports.
- Collaborate with Engineering department to ensure all items (upper level and sub levels) of BOM are entered into Windchill.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Category Management and Manufacturing to simulate and assign the manufacturing COGS to parts/product.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to develop, innovate and implement manufacturing technology best practices.

FINANCIAL

- All employees have an accountability to the organization to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses.
- Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames and following the relevant financial policy and procedure.
- Prepare feasibility studies and thorough cost justification for projects.
- Monitor production output and collaborate to implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required:

- Bachelor’s degree or experience equivalent to 10+ years of experience related to manufacturing, particularly in oilfield applications.
- 5-8 years minimum experience in a manufacturing setting with hands on involvement in leading productivity improvement via setup reduction, tooling improvements, etc.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience with hands-on Lean Manufacturing which has resulted in driving positive plant performance and financial improvements.
- Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience with multiple direct reports.
- Legally authorized to work in assigned location.
- Ability to interact fluently in English.
- Proficient in MS Office suite.
- Strong organizational skills and high degree of attention to detail and follow through.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communicator.
- Ability to delegate work effectively.
- Understanding of budgetary process and fiscal responsibility requirements.

- General knowledge of purchasing, inventory control and oilfield related parts.
- Fundamental knowledge of manufacturing equipment, preventative/predictive maintenance systems, and equipment cost.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience Preferred:

- Strong understanding and experience in the oil & gas industry.
- Experience working in a multi-product line manufacturing plant serving international customers.
- Strong background in machining and/or assembly processes for bills of material > 2 lines.
- Ability to interact in language relevant in local plant.
- Detailed understanding of MRP, with experience in JD Edwards and or Oracle OTM a plus.
- Demonstrated experience developing supply chains to improve operational performance – on time delivery, lead time and cost.
