THE WORK

* Perform Supplier Quality Engineering duties in support of the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) supplier quality organization on mechanical/electro-mechanical subcontract and commodity procurements.
* Requires close coordination with Sourcing, Program Quality, Engineering and Program Office functions.
* Reviews and identifies program contractual and product drawing requirements and applies the applicable quality flow-down requirements to part masters and purchase orders.
* Makes recommendations on supplier selection based on cost, inspection of facilities, risk assessments, and historical performance.
* Travel to suppliers is required; travel frequency will vary based on program requirements and supplier performance. Travel is primarily domestic, but can be international on occasion
* Supplier evaluation
* Verification of special process sources
* Part/product acceptance inspection planning and verification
* Supplier manufacturing process and quality plan review
* Defect root cause analysis and corrective action verification
* Supplier oversight, including development and execution of credible Return-To-Green plans
* Fostering positive working relationships with internal cross-functional teams and LM suppliers

STANDARD JOB DESCRIPTION

Applies quality principles in the areas of: design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality for make and/or buy products. Performs technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings and procedures. Collaborates with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality related issues to ensure quality standards are in place. Engages in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action. Ensures corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/or are compliant with requirements. Develops strategies and systems designed to improve internal and/or supplier performance and productivity. Evaluates quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts product quality tests, performs statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Engages in supplier selection process and maintain certification programs.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education.
* Experience with Supplier Quality and/or Quality Engineering or Experience in a manufacturing environment
* Experience working with internal and external customers and suppliers
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

Desired Skills

• Knowledgeable in surveillance of AS9100 / ISO9001 Quality Management Systems and experience with AS9102 first article inspections or APQP
• Technical experience with mechanical and/or electrical products, including manufacturing processes, interpretation of technical drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and military and industry specifications
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions and set own priorities in a dynamic business environment; self-starter with effective time management skills and ability to work with high level of autonomy
• Familiarity with data review and analysis to identify and monitor trends
• Experience and familiarity with machining and manufacturing practices
• Familiarity with both destructive and non-destructive inspection techniques
• Lean / Six Sigma / Green Belt / Black Belt experience or CQE, CSQP or CMQ/OE certification
• Experience working in P2P, SAP, Solumina, EPDM and Tableau
• Good communication skills, both oral and written

* Ability to obtain a security clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00

* For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
