About this role

This position is expected to start January 2027 and continue through Winter/Spring term (ending approximately May 2027) or continuing into Summer 2027 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

Tesla is looking for a highly capable, independent intern to help design, build, and execute email strategies that retain customers, drive conversion, and improve customer experience. You will own work end to end, from ideation and campaign build through QA, deployment and iteration, and work cross-functionally to help stand up and refine automations that improve CSAT and the overall customer journey.

This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, brings their own ideas, and can turn strategy into execution quickly while partnering across Design, Content, Analytics, Legal and Sales.

- Own email campaign execution end to end, through ideation, inbound requests, multi-device/browser proofs, QA, scheduling, and post-send monitoring

- Independently test, analyze and optimize email campaigns (including A/B tests) that improve retention, conversion, and engagement

- Design, build, and refine lifecycle and triggered automations that reduce friction, improve CSAT, and support customers at key moments; research existing automations across the business for improvement opportunities

- Build and run communication plans aligned with broader marketing strategy and brand voice

- Partner with analysts on performance insights, list hygiene, opt-in status, and data-protection compliance to improve targeting, messaging, and experience

- Collaborate with Design, Copy, Content, and Analytics on on-brand assets and messaging; request, track, and give feedback on hero/asset work

- Drive projects from start to finish with minimal supervision, hitting timelines, aligning cross-functional partners, and improving email program workflows over time

- Stay current on email best practices and the broader communications landscape

- Currently pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Communications, Advertising, or Media Studies
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning multiple projects with minimal supervision

- Proven ability to meet deadlines and project-manage across cross-functional teams

- Comfortable with change and a fast-paced environment

- Familiarity with A/B testing concepts and basic email best practices

- Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret performance metrics and and optimize workflows

- Experience in digital communications, email marketing, customer lifecycle programs, CRM audiences or customer retention

Expected Compensation $20.91 - $38.70 + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
