We prioritize outcomes over activity, embrace rapid learning loops, and collaborate across organizations and disciplines to show the potential impact of Microsoft’s technology solutions to our partners.</p><p> </p><p>We are seeking a Director of Strategic Partnerships – Formula 1 to own the end-to-end strategy, executive relationships, technology roadmap, and business impact of one of Microsoft’s most visible global partnerships. This leader will operate at the intersection of partner strategy, product and engineering, commercial opportunity, and integrated marketing.</p><p> </p><p>As a people manager and organizational leader, this person will build clarity in ambiguity, raise the quality of design-making, develop talent, and create accountability across internal teams, agencies, and partners. You will represent the partnership with senior Microsoft and partner executives and communicate progress, risks, tradeoffs, learnings, and business outcomes with precision.</p><p> </p><p>This candidate will be an enterprise-minded leader who can shape a multi-year vision, influence executives without direct authority, and mobilize cross-functional teams to delivery technology-enabled experiences. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.</p><p>In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.</p><br><br><b>Responsibilities</b><br><ul type="disc"><li>Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, setting clear priorities, decision rights, quality standards, and accountability for outcomes.</li><li>Manage external relationships with sports organizations ensuring effective delivery of partnership objectives, operating model, and success measures for the Formula 1 partnership.</li><li>Collaborate with internal engineering teams or agencies to deliver transformational technology with the partner.</li><li>Develop activation plans to drive awareness of partnership and build product consideration/adoption through storytelling and tech engagement.</li><li>Execute against rights and assets within partnership agreements.</li><li>Lead the integrated activation strategy across campaigns, content, digital experiences, events, hospitality, customer engagement, and partner channels.</li><li>Direct agencies and cross-functional teams from brief through delivery, ensuring creative ambition is matched by strategic clarity, technical authenticity, operational rigor and on time execution.</li><li>Develop meaningful briefs</li><li>Establish and maintain work back schedules</li><li>Manage creative reviews with senior leadership</li><li>Facilitate internal and partner approvals</li><li>Deliver assets to channels on time</li><li>Support reporting and insights delivery</li><li>Provide credible leadership across cloud, data, AI, security, developer, productivity, and customer experience scenarios, bringing in the right technical resources to validate architecture, feasibility, privacy, security, and scalability.</li><li>Report on partnership activations and campaigns, mapping activities to key KPIs and identifying opportunities for optimization and impact.</li><li>Drive visibility internally of partnerships and establish regular cadence of engagement to ensure companywide utilization.</li><li>Manage a complex budget ensuring adherence to all targets compliance with procurement policies, and efficient use of resources.</li><li>Embody our <a href="https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/about/corporate-values">Culture </a>and <a href="https://careers.microsoft.com/us/en/culture">Values</a></li></ul><br><br><b>Qualifications</b><br><p><strong>Required/minimum qualifications</strong></p><ul type="disc"><li>Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 5+ years sponsorship activation, integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related work experience</li><ul type="disc"><li>OR equivalent experience.</li></ul></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Additional or preferred qualifications</strong></p><ul type="disc"><li>Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 3+ years sponsorship activation, integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related experience</li><ul type="disc"><li>OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 7+ years sponsorship activation, integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related experience</li><li>OR equivalent experience.</li></ul><li>3+ years people management experience.</li><li>Experience in Formula 1, motorsport, sports, entertainment or another global rights-holder ecosystem.</li></ul><ul type="disc"><li>Campaign development and execution experience with a focus on measurable impact analysis.</li><li>Experience in project management, navigating varying priorities, tight timelines, organizational alignment, measurement, and accountability.   </li><li>Experience in technical product storytelling.</li></ul> <br><br><p>Integrated Marketing M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year. </p><p></p> <p>Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
