As a Senior Manager specializing in Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM), you will lead complex ETRM transformation and implementation programs for energy and commodity trading clients. You will combine deep energy trading domain expertise, program leadership, platform knowledge, systems integration experience, and business development capabilities to deliver significant and lasting business improvements for clients. · Lead ETRM Transformation Programs: Plan and manage full-lifecycle ETRM implementations covering scope, schedule, budget, resources, governance, risk management, change control, and executive reporting across front-office, risk, physical operations, back-office, logistics, and IT workstreams. Lead programs from initiation through implementation, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization using Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid delivery approaches. · Implement Commodity Risk Management Capabilities: Lead the design and configuration of market and credit risk capabilities including position management, mark-to-market valuation, P&L attribution, limits, Greeks, VaR, stress testing, counterparty exposure, collateral, margin management, ISDA netting, and CVA/DVA. Address energy-specific risk including basis, transportation, location, spark/dark spreads, renewable variability, and market-data governance. · Enable Physical Trading, Logistics and Operations: Lead implementation of physical commodity workflows from trade capture through scheduling, delivery, settlement, and invoicing. Support gas nominations and pipeline scheduling, ISO/RTO power scheduling, crude and refined-products logistics, LNG cargo and vessel scheduling, inventory management, terminal operations, and physical settlement processes. · Govern Enterprise Application Integration: Define and manage the ecosystem of applications and interfaces surrounding the ETRM platform, including ERP, General Ledger, Treasury, market data, exchanges, logistics, regulatory systems, and operational platforms. Oversee integration with SAP S/4HANA, SAP IS-U, Oracle Financials, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, CME, logistics systems, pipeline portals, and related platforms. · Drive Regulatory and Compliance Capabilities: Ensure ETRM solutions support relevant regulatory and financial-control requirements, including Dodd-Frank, EMIR, MiFID II, FERC EQR/Form 552, SOX controls, environmental programs, hedge accounting, and regulatory reporting. · Lead Executive Stakeholder and Change Management: Establish governance across business, risk, operations, finance, and technology leadership including CRO, CIO, CTO, CFO, and VP-level stakeholders. Translate technical and architectural decisions into business impacts while leading business readiness, communications, training, data migration, parallel runs, and cutover activities. · Advise Clients on ETRM Platform Strategy: Apply experience across platforms such as ION Openlink Endur, Allegro, Triple Point/Commodity XL, RightAngle, Aspect, Enuit ENTRADE, Orchestrade, Molecule, and Paragon to advise clients on platform selection, configuration trade-offs, implementation approaches, and migration strategies. · Support Business Development and Practice Growth: Identify and qualify new ETRM consulting opportunities, lead or co-lead pursuits, shape implementation scope, develop staffing and commercial models, prepare proposals and presentations, and expand existing client relationships into follow-on engagements. · Build Market Presence and Thought Leadership: Develop white papers, points of view, conference presentations, and platform comparison frameworks; participate in industry events; and maintain relationships with ETRM vendors, systems integrators, and industry stakeholders to support market positioning and co-selling opportunities. · Deep ETRM and Energy Trading Experience: 10+ years of experience in energy trading technology, ETRM implementation, or commodity risk management, including at least 5 years in a senior program management or leadership role. · Full-Lifecycle ETRM Implementation Experience: Proven delivery of at least two full-lifecycle ETRM implementations spanning front-office trading, risk management, physical operations, logistics, settlement, back-office, and technology workstreams. · Strong ETRM Platform Knowledge: Functional and integration-level experience with at least two major ETRM platforms, with demonstrated ability to understand platform configuration, integration, implementation, and migration considerations. Experience across both established enterprise platforms and modern cloud-native platforms is highly valued. · Commodity Risk Management Expertise: Strong understanding of market risk, credit risk, position management, VaR, Greeks, limits, counterparty exposure, collateral, netting, and the front-to-back trade lifecycle. Knowledge of energy-specific risk concepts including basis risk, spark/dark spreads, volumetric risk, and illiquid delivery-point pricing is required. · Physical Commodity Operations Experience: Hands-on knowledge of physical energy trading and operations, including gas nominations and pipeline scheduling, ISO/RTO power scheduling, crude and refined-products logistics, LNG and cargo operations, inventory management, meter-data reconciliation, invoice validation, and dispute resolution. · Enterprise Integration Expertise: Understanding of the broader trading technology ecosystem and enterprise integration patterns, including APIs, ETL, message queuing, ERP, Treasury, General Ledger, market data, exchanges, logistics, regulatory reporting, and operational systems. Knowledge of trading-related protocols such as FIX, FpML, and NAESB EDI is expected. · Program and Delivery Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead large, multi-workstream programs with structured governance, financial management, resource planning, vendor management, risk management, executive communication, testing, migration, cutover, and change management. · Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge: Working knowledge of regulatory and control requirements affecting energy and commodity trading, including Dodd-Frank, FERC, EMIR, MiFID II, SOX, hedge accounting under ASC 815/IFRS 9, and environmental-market requirements. · Business Development Experience: Demonstrated experience participating in consulting sales cycles, including opportunity qualification, scope development, proposal creation, presentations, commercial discussions, and contract negotiations. Candidates should be comfortable operating as a seller-doer while leading client engagements. · Industry Network and Client Leadership: Established relationships within energy trading, utilities, commodity risk, or ETRM technology, with the ability to develop client relationships, generate introductions, identify opportunities, and build a qualified consulting pipeline. · Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. · Advanced ETRM Platform Breadth: Experience across multiple ETRM solutions including ION Openlink Endur, Allegro, Triple Point/Commodity XL, RightAngle, ION Aspect, Enuit ENTRADE, Orchestrade, Molecule, and Paragon, with the ability to evaluate platform trade-offs and advise clients on modernization and migration strategies. · LNG, Crude and Maritime Logistics Expertise: Experience with IMOS or equivalent maritime, cargo, vessel, or terminal-management platforms supporting LNG, crude oil, or refined-products operations. · Regulated Utility Experience: ETRM implementation or transformation experience within regulated electric or gas utility environments, including familiarity with FERC requirements, state Public Utility Commissions, and Integrated Resource Planning processes. · Renewables and Environmental Markets Expertise: Familiarity with renewable certificate systems such as WREGIS and NAR, environmental and carbon-credit programs including RGGI, WCI, and LCFS, and renewable Power Purchase Agreement settlement. · Enterprise Financial Integration Knowledge: Experience integrating ETRM platforms with SAP S/4HANA, SAP IS-U, Oracle Financials, Treasury, General Ledger, AP/AR, hedge accounting, and cash-management processes. · Market Data and Exchange Connectivity: Experience integrating ETRM solutions with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, Platts, CME, FIX-based exchange connectivity, prime brokers, and cleared-swap reconciliation processes. · Data and Testing Skills: Working knowledge of SQL and Excel for data analysis, reconciliation, migration validation, and UAT support, together with experience using delivery and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, and Confluence. · Professional Certifications: PMP, PgMP, or SAFe SPC certification is preferred; CFA or FRM credentials are considered an additional advantage. · Advanced Degree: MBA or other relevant Master's degree preferred.
