Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) Hematology & Oncology Job Description The Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) plays a critical role within a hematology and oncology care team by delivering direct patient care, managing complex cancer treatments, providing supportive care services, and supporting physicians across the continuum of cancer care. In this role, you work closely with physicians, infusion staff, and clinical support teams to evaluate patients, manage treatment-related side effects, coordinate care, and enhance the overall patient experience. You will practice with a high level of autonomy while maintaining strong collaboration with supervising physicians and the multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including detailed histories and physical examinations for new, follow-up, and actively treated patients.
- Evaluate patients with malignant and benign hematologic and oncologic conditions and develop individualized treatment and supportive care plans.
- Monitor treatment response, disease progression, and evolving care needs, adjusting plans as clinically indicated.
- Review and interpret laboratory, pathology, imaging, and other diagnostic results to guide clinical decision-making.
- Manage chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy treatment-related toxicities and provide ongoing symptom management and supportive care.
- Participate in advanced care planning, survivorship care discussions, and end-of-life care planning when appropriate.
- Assist physicians with inbasket management, triage support, medication management, and infusion support to ensure timely and coordinated patient care.
- Provide clinical recommendations and coordinate care across settings while implementing physician-directed treatment plans.
- Perform bone marrow biopsies following appropriate training and competency validation.
- Round on hospitalized patients as assigned, collaborating with inpatient teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Prescribe and refill medications within scope of practice and in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing, including laboratory and imaging studies, to support accurate diagnosis and management.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and ancillary support services to facilitate transitions of care and specialty referrals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary care conferences to contribute to comprehensive treatment planning and patient-centered care.
- Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety, clinical outcomes, and care processes.
- Support clinical protocol development and adhere to evidence-based guidelines in hematology and oncology practice.
- Maintain all required licensure, certifications, and continuing education to ensure ongoing competency and compliance.

Essential Skills

- Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license with DEA registration and prescriptive authority.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology and/or hematology or closely related clinical provider experience.
- Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients across the continuum of care.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills in managing complex and chronic disease states.
- Experience ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic studies, including imaging and pathology.
- Proficiency in managing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and associated treatment-related toxicities.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, infusion therapy teams, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
- Strong EMR and computer proficiency, with the ability to maintain detailed and timely documentation.
- Comfort working in both outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital rounding environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- For Nurse Practitioners: Masters or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- For Nurse Practitioners: National certification (ANP, FNP, GNP, or equivalent).
- For Nurse Practitioners: Active Oregon APRN license or eligibility to obtain prior to starting employment.
- For Physician Assistants: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- For Physician Assistants: NCCPA certification.
- For Physician Assistants: Active Oregon PA license or eligibility to obtain prior to starting employment.
- Active DEA registration for prescribing controlled medications.
- Experience in hematology and oncology settings, including infusion therapy environments, is strongly preferred.
- Interest in advanced care planning, survivorship programs, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Willingness to provide occasional regional coverage at an additional clinic location is welcomed and may be eligible for an additional bonus.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education in hematology and oncology.

Work Environment This position is based in a modern hematology and oncology clinic in Corvallis, Oregon. The schedule is primarily a weekday, outpatient clinic schedule, offering regular daytime hours that support work-life balance. The role includes one outpatient 24-hour holiday call shift annually and hospital rounding responsibilities as assigned, providing a mix of ambulatory and inpatient practice. You will work in a collaborative, team-based environment alongside physicians, infusion nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and ancillary support services, using an electronic medical record system and standard oncology diagnostic and treatment technologies. The culture emphasizes high-quality, patient-centered cancer care, strong interdisciplinary collaboration, and continuous improvement. Professional clinical attire is expected, appropriate for a specialty oncology clinic and hospital rounding setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Corvallis, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $131684.00 - $181796.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
