GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This job title is responsible for overseeing the quality control staff and activities for assigned projects, ensuring all equipment has been inspected, and meeting customer specifications, project requirements, and API Q1 Certification standards. The individual manages inspectors and works with operations to ensure proper application and inspection of the electrical feed and wellhead equipment. The position is responsible for managing the quality control staff and ensuring API Q1 standards are met while communicating project status, quality requirements, and customer expectations are met to management and operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Plan, coordinate and direct quality control staff duties for all personnel within their work area

- Ensure the latest revision of required specifications, procedures, drawings and customer requirements are referenced within their work area

- Read and interpret specifications and procedures, then communicate requirements to personnel within their work area as needed

- Train, direct and oversee personnel on inspection and job-related duties within their work area

- Inspect and oversee preparation activities, including cleanliness, profile and environmental conditions prior

- Inspect and oversee Sonic equipment to verify proper requirements and compliance with specified procedures are met

- Verify coating materials, application methods and equipment are in accordance with approved procedures and manufacturer requirements

- Oversee interpretation and recording of inspection results and identify nonconforming conditions

- Ensure accurate reporting, documentation and completion of inspection records for work performed within their area

- Ensure all inspection equipment is in good working order, properly maintained and calibrated as required

- Communicate job status, coating quality issues and inspection results to management and the customer as required

- Ensure all personnel follow applicable API Q1 – QMS and HSE requirements, along with customer specifications

- Access process and procedures for improvement opportunities or adjustments

- Supervise 15 - 20 indirect reports

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- High School Diploma / GED

- (3) years previous inspection experience with demonstrated experience in oil and gas industrial applications and inspection.

- Experience with electrical feed through and/or wellhead preferred

TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Current knowledge of quality control equipment used in the industrial and oil and gas industries

- Current knowledge of inspection and quality control requirements

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with API Q1 requirements and inspection

- Excellent verbal and written communication and troubleshooting skills

- Must have good reading and understanding

- Knowledge of electrical feed through specifications, inspection methods and techniques

- Ability to interpret manufacturer technical data sheets, safety data sheets and customer specifications

- Skilled to use a computer and various software packages
