About this role

Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation (the “Company”), a subsidiary of Marcus & Millichap, Inc. (NYSE:MMI) is seeking an Associate, Capital Markets, to join a top producing commercial real estate debt and equity origination team. The candidate will support the team in the origination and execution of financing transactions and will be responsible for financial modeling, market and sponsor due diligence, and assisting with the creation of offering memorandum. This role is designated to be a non-exempt position.

The base salary/hourly range for this role is $35 - $40 per hour. This position is eligible for a discretionary performance-based bonus. The exact bonus is not guaranteed and will vary based on individual performance, team results, and company performance. Actual pay will be determined by factors such as education, experience, and job-related skills relevant to the role. Marcus & Millichap is a multi-state employer and posted salary ranges are provided in good faith for compliance with all relevant pay-transparency regulations. - Assist in the preparation of engagement agreements.
- Review and input property rent rolls, leases, and operating statements.
- Prepare historical financial analysis, financial models and assist in the underwriting of transactions.
- Perform due diligence on prospective and existing clients using various data sources.
- Research local real estate markets to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Prepare various sections of offering memorandum.
- Request and coordinate transaction documentation.
- Follow up with clients, prospective buyers, and investors on issues related to transaction closings.
- Ensure required closing documentation is posted to internal systems.

- 3 to 4 years of commercial real estate experience in advisory, banking, or valuation.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or commercial real estate required.
- Financial modeling skills with core competency with Excel and Argus.
- High attention to detail in analytical assessments and valuations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and productively during time sensitive situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work Independently with a team player attitude.
- Flexible attitude with the ability to handle change effectively.
- Availability for North American travel.
