Job Title: Sr Human Resources Business Partner Flight Operations Job Description This Sr Human Resources Business Partner role supports a Flight Operations organization in Palmdale, CA, providing strategic HR leadership for a workforce of approximately 300400 employees. The HRBP partners closely with managers and executive leaders to drive employee relations, performance management, talent development, workforce planning, compensation, and overall organizational effectiveness in a highly regulated, operational environment. The position requires deep expertise in employee relations, the ability to manage complex workplace issues, and strong influence skills to guide business decisions and support both exempt and non-exempt employees in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities

- Partner with managers and executive leaders to develop and execute HR strategies that support Flight Operations objectives and overall organizational effectiveness.
- Lead and manage complex employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and corrective action, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and practices.
- Provide guidance on performance management, including performance review cycles, coaching leaders on feedback and goal setting, and supporting performance improvement initiatives.
- Support talent development efforts by contributing to succession planning, leadership development programs, and retention initiatives for a diverse operational workforce.
- Drive workforce planning activities, including analyzing workforce trends, headcount needs, and organizational structure to support current and future business requirements.
- Manage and advise on compensation-related activities such as salary analysis, merit and bonus planning, and out-of-cycle compensation requests to help leaders make equitable pay decisions.
- Utilize workforce analytics and Excel-based reporting to identify trends, inform decision-making, and present data-driven insights to leadership.
- Collaborate with talent acquisition and recruiting teams to support hiring strategies, candidate selection, and onboarding processes for both exempt and non-exempt employees.
- Ensure compliance with California employment law and relevant regulations, advising leaders on policy interpretation and risk mitigation in a regulated operational environment.
- Provide day-to-day HR business partner support to operational and field-based teams, building strong relationships with onsite leaders and employees.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive HR information and employee matters.
- Influence leaders through strong business acumen and executive presence, guiding them on organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and change management.
- Contribute to organizational development efforts by advising on structure, role design, and workforce alignment to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support payroll-related HR activities by coordinating with appropriate teams to ensure accurate employee data and adherence to HR processes.
- Deliver high-quality customer service to employees and leaders, responding promptly to inquiries and providing clear, practical HR guidance.

Essential Skills

- 10+ years of progressive human resources experience in a business partner or similar Sr HR role.
- Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, including investigations, conflict resolution, and managing complex workplace issues.
- Experience as an HR Business Partner supporting a large, regulated, operational workforce.
- Strong knowledge of California employment law and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to coach and influence managers and executive leaders without relying solely on formal authority.
- Experience with performance management processes, including performance review cycles and performance improvement initiatives.
- BG in workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and operational workforce support.
- Competence in workforce analytics with solid Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong business acumen, sound judgment, and the ability to make balanced, practical recommendations.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee and organizational information.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build trust and strong relationships across all levels of the organization.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Preferred experience supporting HR functions in aerospace, defense, aviation, manufacturing, automotive, industrial operations, or other complex, employee-intensive environments.
- Experience supporting Flight Operations or field-based teams in a fast-paced, regulated setting.
- Involvement in succession planning, retention initiatives, leadership development, and talent review processes.
- Experience with compensation activities, including salary analysis, merit and bonus planning, and out-of-cycle pay decisions.
- BG in organizational development, training, or leadership facilitation.
- Advanced Excel and data reporting experience for workforce analytics and management presentations.
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Training, or a related discipline (preferred/required depending on hiring team direction).
- Recognized HR certification (such as a professional HR designation) considered beneficial, especially when combined with equivalent Sr HR experience.
- Exposure to aerospace or defense environments and familiarity with supporting a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees.
- Executive presence and the ability to present recommendations and insights effectively to Sr leadership.

Work Environment The role follows a 9/80 work schedule, offering an extended weekend every other week. The position is primarily onsite in Palmdale, CA, with the flexibility to work remotely one day per week. The environment is operational and fast-paced, supporting a large, regulated Flight Operations workforce and providing exposure to complex, impactful business activities. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $140000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. competitive total rewards package that may include medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, holidays, and other company-sponsored benefits.
