About this role

The Global Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for maintaining and managing IMMEX, OEA, VAT certifications, and Annex 30, as well as supporting audits and regulatory requirements for Sensata’s Mexico sites. The role monitors compliance with Mexican Customs regulations, oversees certification-related activities, and generates monthly compliance metrics for Global Trade Compliance management.

General Responsibilities
• Updates compliance policies and procedures in accordance with laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Conducts regular audits to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
• Monitors organizational activities to identify potential compliance issues.
• Prepares and presents audit reports with findings and recommendations for improvement.
• Identifies and manages compliance risks within the organization.
• Recommends strategies to mitigate identified risks
• Stays current with changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members
• Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Additional Responsibilities :

• Manage Annex 24 and Annex 30 compliance activities and reporting.
• Lead VAT, IMMEX, and OEA certification requirements and audits.
• Monitor temporary import inventories and BOM reconciliations to ensure compliance with Mexican Customs regulations.
• Support AEO/CTPAT programs and provide guidance to Site Trade Compliance teams\

Additional Qualifications :

• 3+ years of international trade compliance experience.
• Experience with IMMEX regulations, Annex 24, Annex 30, VAT, OEA, and CTPAT programs.
• Strong knowledge of Mexican import/export and customs regulations.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in English (written and verbal).
