Job Title: Laboratory Design Associate Job Description
The Laboratory Design Associate is responsible for preparing 2D/3D designs and construction plans for standalone analytics-only laboratory solutions. This role supports the development of laboratory designs throughout multiple phases to ensure successful implementation of proposed solutions. The position involves creating basic 3D visualizations and digital images to promote sales opportunities and support marketing needs. While this is a remote position, it requires occasional travel across the US.
Responsibilities
- Transform Matterport digital twin BIM files or Point clouds into formats used throughout the non-automation solution design lifecycle.
- Produce detailed concept designs, phasing plans, and construction drawings using 2D/3D CAD software for non-automated solutions.
- Develop 3D models, renderings, and basic visualizations of laboratory designs using Revit, Enscape, Twinmotion, or Unreal Engine.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers for design modifications and final approval.
- Document and maintain change requests for concept designs, phasing plans, and construction drawings for non-automation solutions.
- Provide accurate technical specifications and install dimensions to engineers, architects, and facilities team.
- Maintain a general working knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards.
- Report progress and status of assignments on a timely basis.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks to meet turnaround time demands.
- Provide backup support on projects with tight schedules.
- Perform other basic drafting and design assignments, special projects, and support functions as needed.
- Employ company standards and follow established procedures to deliver quality results.
Essential Skills
- 1 - 3 years experience with Revit, BIM, and other CAD-related software.
- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Design, Technology, Interior Design, or comparable fields.
- Proficient with 3D design and rendering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, Unreal Engine, and Twinmotion.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to design and read mechanical and architectural drawings.
- Proficiency in designing products using 3D parametric CAD.
- Basic knowledge of CAD file management and functionality.
- General understanding of drafting conventions and best practices.
- Basic understanding of GDT.
- Basic knowledge of Virtual and Augmented Reality Solutions.
- Basic knowledge of Business Information Modeling (BIM) and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
- General understanding and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field.
- Basic knowledge of other related disciplines and company objectives.
- Willing and able to travel 10% of the time.
- Reside within 50 miles of a major US metropolitan airport.
Work Environment
This remote position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week over five days. It involves collaborating with a diverse team of colleagues, stakeholders, and clients to creatively address unique design solutions. The role entails occasional travel up to 10% of the time across the US, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $31.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
