Clearance:

Ability to obtain and maintain a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) for our Department of Treasury customer. Candidates must reside in, and perform all work from, the continental United States or its outlying territories.

Location:

Remote (United States)

Work Schedule:

Full-time, remote. Must be available during core business hours (Eastern Time) to support team meetings and stakeholder working sessions. Occasional travel may be required.

Salary Range:

$65,000 to $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Position Overview:

AptNexus is seeking a Business Data Analyst to support a risk analytics team within a cybersecurity compliance program for our Department of Treasury customer. The team maintains a risk-based model that prioritizes which government partner organizations receive compliance reviews. In this role, you will bridge the customer and the analytics team by gathering and documenting requirements, maintaining the team’s work plan, supporting planning meetings, validating data, and keeping dashboards current. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter with a business or finance background, strong writing skills, and a growing interest in data analytics.

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Gather, document, and track business requirements for risk model and dashboard enhancements, working with customer stakeholders and the Senior Data Analyst.
- Develop, maintain, and update the team’s work plan, defining tasks, owners, and deliverable deadlines as priorities change.
- Schedule and coordinate quarterly planning meetings, prepare and distribute meeting materials in advance, and document discussions, decisions, and action items.
- Track action items and enhancement requests through completion, and report status to the team.
- Validate the accuracy of automated data outputs and rankings, and research and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain and update risk dashboards and reports, and prepare clear summaries for stakeholders.
- Maintain data definitions, process documentation, and user guides.
- Format and quality check deliverables for accuracy, consistency, and conformance with customer templates.
- Comply with all customer security, privacy, and records management requirements, using only Government-furnished equipment and approved systems.

Required Skills

- One to three years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, reporting, or a related role.
- Demonstrated experience in accounting or finance, gained through professional work or internships.
- Demonstrated experience in technical writing and document formatting, including requirements documents, plans, and meeting records.
- E xperience gathering and documenting business requirements and translating stakeholder needs into clear specifications.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data validation; exposure to VBA is preferred.
- Experience with Tableau or another data visualization tool is preferred; familiarity with Python or R is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when validating data and reviewing results.
- Detail-oriented self-starter who takes ownership of assignments, manages competing priorities, and drives work to completion with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and courteous approach to customer stakeholders.
- Sound professional judgment and integrity in handling sensitive information.
- Must meet federal eligibility requirements for a position of public trust, including U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency, federal tax compliance, Selective Service registration (if applicable), a credit check, and fingerprinting.
- Must complete customer-required security awareness training upon onboarding and annually thereafter.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business from an accredited college or university.
