About this role

Job Title: Receptionist Job Description This contract Receptionist role provides front desk and administrative support at a busy facility in Huntsville, Alabama. The position runs for approximately 810 weeks to cover short-term leave and operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with flexibility for overtime when needed. You serve as the first point of contact for visitors and customers, ensuring a welcoming, professional experience while supporting building security through visitor check-in and badging. Responsibilities

- Greet and check in customers, visitors, and guests in a professional and friendly manner as they enter the facility.
- Create and issue photo identification and access control badges for contractors and visitors to support building security.
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and transfer calls to the appropriate employees or departments.
- Assist with conference room scheduling to ensure meeting spaces are reserved and managed efficiently.
- Provide general administrative and clerical support, including data entry and routine office tasks.
- Support onsite facilities and administrative teams by assisting with assignments and coordinating tasks as needed.
- Submit tickets for facility-related issues and building maintenance using Corrigo or similar systems.
- Maintain and regularly update the building contact list for key personnel and their locations.
- Update and keep current the Concierge Playbook for the site, ensuring a complete and accurate copy is available at the reception desk at all times.
- Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned to meet operational needs.
- Demonstrate flexibility in responsibilities and working hours to align with changing business needs and a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Receptionist or administrative support role.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced front desk or office environment.
- Strong customer service skills with a commitment to providing an excellent experience for visitors and internal staff.
- Professional communication skills, including clear verbal communication in person and over the phone, and strong written communication.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively with minimal supervision.
- Positive, proactive, and problem-solving attitude when addressing visitor needs, facility issues, and administrative tasks.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
- Proficiency with desktop computing platforms (PC) and common business applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams.
- Accurate data entry and clerical skills suitable for maintaining records and documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Associate degree or completion of college coursework is preferred.
- Prior professional experience in a very busy front desk setting is preferred.
- Experience providing customer-facing support and acting as the primary point of contact for visitors.
- Experience in administrative support, clerical work, and front desk operations.
- Familiarity with facility ticketing or maintenance request systems such as Corrigo.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs in a dynamic environment.

Work Environment This role is based onsite at a busy facility in Huntsville, Alabama, working Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with occasional overtime as needed. The environment is fast-paced and customer-facing, with frequent interaction with visitors, contractors, and employees at the front desk. You primarily work at a seated reception station, using a PC with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams, while also moving around the facility to support tasks that may require climbing stairs and lifting up to 25 pounds. The position involves maintaining security protocols through visitor check-in and badging, coordinating conference room schedules, and supporting facility operations through ticketing systems. Professional attire and demeanor are expected to present a polished, welcoming image as the face of the organization.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $10.00 - $10.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
