Job Overview
The Certified Medical Assistant supports the JS Pediatrics Clinic by providing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a physician. This role assists with patient exams, procedures, documentation, medications, immunizations, patient education, and maintaining a smooth flow throughout the clinic.
What You Will Need
- High school diploma or GED required
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required
- Current CMA, RMA, CCMA, or other approved Medical Assistant certification
- CPR certification required
- Previous medical office experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and medication information
- Prepare patients and exam rooms for visits
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and immunizations as ordered
- Document patient care in the electronic medical record
- Coordinate referrals, tests, and procedures
- Provide education to patients and families
- Respond to patient phone calls and follow-up needs
- Maintain supplies, equipment, and clean exam rooms
- Follow all clinic, HIPAA, safety, and regulatory requirements
