Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and hardware development of embedded electronic systems, owning board designs from requirements through layout, bringup, and validation.
- Communicate technical requirements, design plans, and project status clearly and professionally to clients, project managers, and engineering teams.
- Perform and document complex engineering analyses, laboratory testing, and hardware validation activities using industry best practices.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers, review their technical work, and provide constructive feedback to ensure highquality engineering output.
- Drive adherence to global regulatory standards, electrical design standards, testing requirements, and compliance considerations throughout the development lifecycle.
- Contribute to department process improvements by sharing best practices, refining workflows, and providing technical mentorship within the engineering team.
- Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data, safeguard intellectual property, and reduce information security incidents.
- Translate customer requirements into robust electrical designs, including component selection and bill of materials (BOM) creation.
- Conduct schematic capture, PCB layout, design reviews, and design revisions, ensuring productionready circuit boards that meet performance and reliability targets.
- Lead board bringup, poweron testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and iterative hardware refinement to resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, firmware, software, systems, and manufacturing engineers across all phases of the product development lifecycle.
- Support products from concept and prototyping through fabrication, pilot builds, and preparation for production release.
- Participate actively in customer meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions, representing the engineering team with a professional presence.
- Work with PCB manufacturers and fabrication houses to support prototype development, fabrication processes, and design for manufacturability.
Essential Skills
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant electrical/electronics engineering experience, with 68+ years preferred for seniorlevel technical leadership.
- Strong expertise in schematic capture, PCB layout, and compliance testing for digital electronic systems.
- Endtoend PCB/PCBA design experience from architecture through schematic capture, layout, board bringup, and validation.
- Handson proficiency with Altium for schematic capture, PCB layout, and managing design revisions.
- Demonstrated experience as a technical lead on engineering projects, independently owning board designs through the full development lifecycle.
- Experience designing digital circuits, including microcontrollerbased systems, power boards, interconnect boards, interface boards, and breakout boards.
- Familiarity with multilayer PCB design, typically 28 layer boards, focused on digital design.
- Experience with component selection, BOM creation, and translating customer requirements into robust electrical designs.
- Ability to perform board bringup, poweron testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and hardware validation in a lab environment.
- Experience working with oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other electronic test equipment.
