E&M Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO in support of the North American Aerospace Defense Command. NORAD is a United States and Canada bi-national organization charged with the missions of aerospace warning, aerospace control and maritime warning for North America. Aerospace warning includes the detection, validation, and warning of attack against North America whether by aircraft, missiles, or space vehicles, through mutual support arrangements with other commands.
Job Description:
- Lead software engineering teams in the design, development, and delivery of reliable mission software that meets customer requirements
- Have experience developing and integrating full-stack applications and familiarity with containerization technology.
- Maintain high standards of code quality, security, and testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, scrum-masters, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate operational needs into clear, actionable technical plans.
- Advocate for and implement modern development practices, including automation, DevSecOps principles, and robust CI/CD pipelines.
- Mentor and support junior software developers, fostering professional growth and skill development.
- Understand cybersecurity principles and compliance requirements relevant to mission or enterprise systems.
- Ability to balance hands-on development with strategic leadership responsibilities
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with ITW/AA or the NISSC II contract within the past year
- Must have AT Level II Certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)
- 12 years or more of general work experience
- 10 years or more of directly related experience as a Software Developer
- Experience leading software development teams
- Experience mentoring junior software developers
- Experience developing technical solutions to meet defined requirements
- Detailed understanding of containers, and experience containerizing applications
- Experience working within an Agile development team and completing tasks on-time Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have and be capable of maintaining a U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance at the required level
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience migrating monolithic applications to a microservices architecture
- Experience in Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration Environments.
- Experience working within a VMware Tanzu environment.
- Experience working with DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing) tools
- Experience working with CCIC2S applications
- Experience in Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration Environment.
