About the Role

The Inside Sales Representative serves as the primary day-to-day commercial contact for assigned customers and is responsible for executing customer support throughout the entire quote-to-cash process. This role partners closely with Commercial Account Managers, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure customer requirements are met while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

The Inside Sales Representative owns quotations, order management, customer communication, forecasting support, and issue resolution for assigned accounts. This position plays a critical role in driving customer satisfaction, improving operational execution, and ensuring customer commitments are fulfilled accurately and on time.

The position enables Commercial Account Managers to focus on strategic customer growth while ensuring seamless execution of daily commercial activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as the primary inside sales contact for assigned customer accounts.
- Manage customer requests throughout the quote-to-cash lifecycle.
- Prepare accurate quotations in accordance with pricing strategy, contractual requirements, and company policies.
- Process customer purchase orders accurately and ensure timely order acknowledgement.
- Maintain a target of acknowledging new customer orders within three business days.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Planning, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure customer commitments are achieved.
- Communicate order status, delivery updates, risks, and changes proactively to customers.
- Monitor customer backlog and open orders to ensure timely execution.
- Support Commercial Account Managers by preparing quotations, customer reports, pricing updates, and account information.
- Assist with customer forecasting activities by maintaining accurate demand and order information.
- Resolve routine customer issues while escalating complex commercial or operational concerns when appropriate.
- Ensure customer master data, pricing, and ERP information remain accurate.
- Maintain CRM and ERP systems with accurate customer, quotation, and order information.
- Support new product introductions and engineering change activities affecting customers.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that improve workflow, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.
- Identify recurring customer issues and recommend process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with pricing requirements, contractual obligations, quality systems, and applicable ITAR/EAR regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; equivalent education and experience will be considered.
- 2–5 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, commercial operations, or order management.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience supporting technical or engineered products preferred.
- Experience using ERP and CRM systems required; JD Edwards experience preferred.
- Experience supporting domestic and international customers preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

- Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with occasional interaction across manufacturing, warehouse, and cleanroom areas.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Frequent use of computers, phones, and other standard office equipment.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Must comply with all required safety, PPE, and cleanroom protocols when entering production areas.
- Occasional travel to customer locations, industry events, and other company sites as required.
