The Role

Love being the go-to person for people questions? We are looking for a practical, people-focused HR Advisor to join our People Operations team. You will support team members and managers across the business with day-to-day HR matters, from policy questions and performance conversations to employee relations, onboarding and compliance. If you are great with people, calm under pressure and keen to grow your HR advisory experience in a fast-growing luxury retail brand, we would love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

- Providing clear, practical HR advice to managers and team members on policies, processes and employment legislation
- Supporting performance management, probation reviews and disciplinary processes, including preparing documents and guiding managers through each step
- Assisting with employee relations matters, including complaints, grievances and workplace investigations
- Supporting return-to-work and workers compensation cases, and helping to manage workplace health and safety reports
- Preparing employment contracts, offer letters and contract variations accurately and on time
- Supporting onboarding and offboarding to give new starters and leavers a great experience
- Keeping team member records accurate and confidential, and making sure documents are saved in the right place in our HRIS (Kronos/UKG)
- Monitoring the HR inbox and responding to enquiries promptly, escalating to senior People Operations team members where needed
- Helping draft and roll out HR policies, procedures and internal communications
- Looking for opportunities to improve our processes and the team member experience

Your Sweet Spots (About You)

- You love what Honey Birdette stands for and share our passion for the brand
- You have at least 2 years of experience in an HR advisory role, ideally in retail or hospitality
- You have a solid understanding of Australian employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act, the National Employment Standards and modern awards
- You are a confident communicator who can give clear, balanced advice to managers and team members at every level
- You handle sensitive and confidential matters with care, fairness and good judgement
- You have excellent attention to detail and take pride in accurate, well-documented work
- You are highly organised and can juggle competing priorities without losing your cool
- You are proactive, practical and solutions-focused
- You are collaborative, positive and always willing to jump in and support the team
- You are based in Sydney and enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid working environment
