About this role
SAIC is hiring a Senior Business Development Leader with deep expertise in defense logistics and mobility solutions to lead growth initiatives supporting U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) and Air Mobility Command (AMC). This senior role sits within SAIC's Defense Agencies and Joint Missions (DAJM) Market and extends across joint logistics organizations including the Joint Enabling Capabilities Command (JECC), Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC), and Military Sealift Command (MSC).
This is a high-visibility, high-impact position for a proven business development professional who understands the full spectrum of global distribution, deployment, airlift, and sustainment operations — and who can translate that expertise into winning strategies and mission-aligned solutions for some of the most operationally critical commands in the U.S. military.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Business Development Leader, you will develop and execute a logistics- and mobility-focused growth strategy centered on USTRANSCOM and AMC, with engagement across the JECC and the broader DAJM portfolio. Core responsibilities include:
- Identify, qualify, and manage a robust pipeline of defense logistics and mobility opportunities, ensuring alignment with SAIC's technical capabilities and strategic priorities
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior logistics and mobility leaders at USTRANSCOM, AMC, and the JECC, while maintaining awareness of adjacent customer communities at SDDC and MSC
- Apply expertise in joint logistics operations and command and control (C2) frameworks to shape opportunity strategy and help customers anticipate and respond to evolving operational demands
- Guide competitive assessments and price-to-win strategies aligned with USTRANSCOM and AMC portfolio priorities
- Oversee the development of proposal strategies and win themes tailored to the specific logistics, distribution, and mobility needs of USTRANSCOM, AMC, and JECC customers
- Serve as a key participant in senior-level reviews, strategic planning sessions, and customer engagement efforts
- Connect logistics domain challenges to broader mission-focused solutions, bridging the gap between technical requirements and enterprise mission outcomes across USTRANSCOM, AMC, and the JECC
- Lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, opportunity-driven environment to deliver actionable logistics-informed recommendations and insights
We are seeking a results-oriented, collaborative leader with a proven track record in defense logistics business development. Required qualifications include:
- A bachelor's degree is required, with substantial experience in defense-focused business development and logistics solutions. Advanced degrees, relevant certifications (e.g., DAWIA Logistics, PMP, APICS CSCP), or equivalent industry expertise are highly valued.
- Hands-on USTRANSCOM and AMC knowledge across key logistics disciplines including global distribution, airlift and air mobility operations, deployment planning, joint logistics enterprise systems, and sustainment
- Active relationships and a strong professional reputation within the logistics and mobility community, particularly at USTRANSCOM and AMC, with the ability to engage senior leaders and influence program direction
- Demonstrated track record of identifying, qualifying, and growing large-scale business opportunities in defense logistics, IT modernization, and mission-enabling systems markets
- Technology fluency across mission-enabling systems that underpin USTRANSCOM and AMC operations, including logistics IT modernization, enterprise data platforms, and command-level decision support systems
- Strong working knowledge of DoD logistics policy frameworks, joint publication doctrine (e.g., JP 4-0), FAR/DFARS requirements, and relevant IT compliance standards
- Proven ability to connect logistics domain challenges to broader mission-focused solutions, translating complex global distribution, airlift, and mobility requirements into enterprise-level outcomes
- Strong collaborative leadership skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and develop customer and industry relationships in a fast-paced environment
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI preferred or ability to upgrade.
Preferred Qualifications include:
- Familiarity with surface and sealift operations at SDDC and MSC
- Experience with C2 systems and joint operations from a logistics perspective
- Reach into adjacent commands including the JECC, SDDC, and MSC beyond primary USTRANSCOM and AMC engagement
