The opportunity

Join Greater Western Water as Manager, Maintenance Program Delivery and lead the delivery of critical maintenance programs that support safe, reliable and efficient water and wastewater services for our communities.

Reporting to the Head of Field Services & Maintenance, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership across maintenance activities for water and recycled water treatment plants, network assets, sewer and water pump stations, and planned maintenance programs. You'll lead a team of leaders and specialists, oversee significant operational and capital budgets, and drive improvements in asset performance, reliability and lifecycle management.

This role plays a key part in shaping maintenance strategy, delivering operational excellence and ensuring maintenance programs meet customer, regulatory and business requirements. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, industry partners and external authorities to support service delivery outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on safety, performance and continuous improvement.

Base location is flexible and can be agreed with the successful candidate from our Altona, Sunbury, West Melbourne or Melton sites. Regular travel across GWW's service region will be required.

Responsibilities

- Lead the delivery of maintenance activities across water treatment plants, recycled water facilities and network assets.

- Drive the continuous improvement of asset management plans, maintenance strategies and asset reliability programs.

- Manage operational and capital expenditure budgets, ensuring efficient and cost-effective program delivery.

- Lead and develop a high-performing team through coaching, capability development and performance leadership.

- Build strong relationships with contractors, delivery partners, authorities and internal stakeholders to support successful program outcomes.

- Champion a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with HSEQ, legislative and regulatory obligations.

Skills & Experience

- Proven leadership experience managing maintenance, operational or asset management teams in utilities, infrastructure or asset-intensive environments.

- Strong experience in water, wastewater, treatment plant or mechanical and electrical asset maintenance.

- Demonstrated experience managing operational and capital budgets and delivering maintenance programs.

- Strong knowledge of asset management, risk management and continuous improvement principles.

- Excellent stakeholder engagement, relationship management and influencing skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to manage complex operational issues and competing priorities.

- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline; or significant relevant experience in water, wastewater or asset management environments
