The purpose of this job is…..

The Quality and Safety Manager is responsible for driving a proactive culture of quality, safety and continuous improvement, working closely with the Head of Clinical Governance and in consultation with the Senior Medical Advisor. The role provides leadership and oversight of the assurance function, clinical governance systems, risk mgmt., audits, compliance activities and quality improvement and Service Delivery Optimisation iniatives. The role will partner closely with operational leaders, credentialing staff, and external stakeholders to strengthen governance frameworks, improve member outcomes and ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.

Responsibilities include:

- Provide leadership and oversight of the assurance function, setting priorities, directing delivery and ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Design, implement and continuously strengthen the quality and assurance programs and clinical governenace frameworks. With a key focus on credentialling compliance, assurance and contractual obligations.
- Lead and support initiatives that optimise service delivery, driving improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, quality and outcomes through engagement with the Service Delivery Optimisation team
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Clinical Governance Team to enhance quality systems and process efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Manage and oversee investigations into near misses, incidents for internal clinical/operational matters
- Manage the escalation and management of clinical and governance risks, ensuring appropriate controls, reporting and stakeholder engagement and treatment strategies are implemented to support compliance in service delivery
- Partner with operational teams to identify opportunities to streamline procesess, reduce inefficiencies and strengthen service delivery outcomes with a focus on the return of clinical reports and off-base care
- Support the design and implementation of sustainable operational improvements that enhance quality, safety and end user experience e.g. members and health practitioners/referring health centres.

What you’ll need to make it possible

- Health Professional/Allied Health Practitioner with extensive experience in Clinical Governance, Quality and Risk management experience
- Relevant post graduate qualifications or working towards same i.e., Quality Management, Health Administration, Clinical Governance
- Demonstrated ability to build and refine service delivery and clinical governance processes
- Proven ability to develop and implement frameworks, drive outcomes and ultimately delivery of programs of work
- Strong leadership experience and the ability to effectively manage a geographically dispersed team
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Track record of achieving deadlines in a high volume, pressured environment with high levels
