About this role

Transform lives, every single day

Do you want a career that means more? At Anglicare Sydney, we bring the strength, the support and the strategy to make it happen.

We're a well-respected not-for-profit that's been serving people in need for over 170 years. Each year, we support individuals, families and communities through services designed to create meaningful and lasting change.

As our Senior Financial Capability Practitioner, you'll play a key role in strengthening the quality and consistency of Financial Capability practice across our Financial Wellbeing and Community services.

This is an opportunity to combine practice leadership, coaching and quality improvement with frontline client work. You'll help Financial Capability Caseworkers grow their confidence and capability while ensuring our practice remains client-led, strengths-based, trauma-informed and responsive to the realities of financial hardship.

Be welcomed into a compassionate, respectful and purpose-driven community where we don't just talk about values - we live them.

Your opportunity

Reporting to the Financial Wellbeing Practice Lead, you'll provide specialist practice guidance and support to Financial Capability Caseworkers across FinWell.

You'll work across teams to translate our Financial Capability model and contemporary best practice into everyday service delivery - supporting onboarding, coaching, case consultation, reflective practice, training and continuous improvement.

You'll also undertake file reviews and practice audits, identify emerging themes and development needs and help turn practice insights into meaningful improvements.

Importantly, this isn't a role removed from frontline practice. You'll maintain a small direct client caseload, keeping you connected to client experiences, emerging needs and the realities facing people experiencing financial hardship.

With integrity and compassion, you will:

·       Provide specialist Financial Capability practice leadership, advice and guidance to caseworkers and operational leaders.

·       Coach and develop practitioners through onboarding, case consultation, reflective practice, feedback, workshops and targeted training.

·       Undertake file reviews, practice audits and quality activities, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to strengthen practice and client outcomes.

·       Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Financial Capability practice models, standards, tools and resources.

·       Maintain a small client caseload, delivering high-quality, client-led and trauma-informed Financial Capability casework.

This role is full-time, based in Mt Druitt and required to travel across sites and community locations.

The role works closely with other Practice and Quality Leaders and supports integrated pathways across Financial Counselling, NILS, Low-Cost Groceries and other services.

What you'll bring

You're an experienced Financial Capability practitioner who understands what best practice looks like - and, just as importantly, knows how to help others develop it.

You'll bring strong Financial Capability knowledge alongside the ability to coach, facilitate and provide constructive feedback in a way that builds practitioner confidence.

You're comfortable reviewing practice and service information, identifying themes and translating your findings into practical recommendations and improvements.

You'll also bring genuine compassion for people experiencing financial hardship and a commitment to client-led, strengths-based, trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice.

What's required

·       Relevant degree in Social Work, Community Services or a related discipline, or a diploma/other qualification with substantial relevant experience.

·       Financial Literacy Education certification.

·       At least 2+ years' proficient experience in Financial Capability or financial wellbeing-related work, or relevant community services experience substantially focused on financial hardship or disadvantage.

·       At least 4+ years' demonstrated experience delivering client-led casework, including assessment, case planning, coaching, monitoring and review.

·       Demonstrated experience coaching staff and facilitating training, workshops or reflective practice, together with experience in service quality assurance activities.

You'll also need experience using client databases, CRM systems and Microsoft Office, a current NSW Driver Licence and a valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
