- Lead delivery of DSP 3.0 outcomes by enabling squads to ship agreed platform capabilities (e.g., core services, integration patterns, controls) predictably and at pace.
- Establish and run effective agile ways of working (ceremonies, cadence, backlog hygiene, Definition of Ready/Done) so the programme delivers consistent value each sprint/PI.
- Own end-to-end delivery governance and transparency across squads, providing clear plans, dependencies, risks/issues, delivery metrics, and stakeholder updates.
- Drive cross-team alignment and dependency management with Architecture, Engineering, Data, Security, Risk/Controls, and Operations to ensure coordinated delivery.
- Remove impediments and unblock execution by actively resolving blockers, escalating early, and ensuring timely decisions from the right forums.
- Enable strong product ownership and prioritisation by partnering with Product Owners to shape outcomes, manage scope, and maintain a value-driven roadmap.
- Embed quality, resilience, and controls-by-design into delivery (testing strategy, non-functional requirements, release readiness, operational support model).
- Support sustainable change and adoption by coordinating release planning, communications, training needs, and feedback loops with consumer teams.
- Build a high-performing, inclusive team culture that promotes continuous improvement, psychological safety, and shared accountability for outcomes.
Requirements
Skill set to succeed as an Agile Lead for building DSP 3.0
Agile delivery leadership (core)
- Strong facilitation of agile ceremonies (planning, refinement, review, retro) with outcomes, not theatre.
- Coaching squads on pragmatic agile practices (flow, WIP limits, DoR/DoD, estimation that fits the team).
Programme execution & governance
- Planning across multiple squads (roadmaps, sprint/PI planning, milestones, release trains).
- Dependency mapping and active management (tech, data, security, environments, vendors).
Platform/product thinking (DSP 3.0 context)
- Understanding platform operating models: “build once, reuse many”, self-service, developer experience.
- Ability to shape work into consumable capabilities (APIs, data products, patterns, reusable components).
Technical fluency (enough to be dangerous, not to code)
- Comfort with engineering concepts: CI/CD, branching/release strategies, environments, automated testing.
- Familiarity with data/platform basics: data pipelines, APIs, event streaming, metadata/lineage (as relevant).
- Non-functional requirements: resilience, performance, observability, capacity, and supportability.
Risk, controls, and regulatory awareness (banking essential)
- Experience embedding controls into delivery (evidence, traceability, approvals, audit-ready artefacts).
- Working knowledge of security-by-design, change management, and operational readiness expectations.
- Ability to partner effectively with Risk, Compliance, Security, and Control Owners without slowing delivery.
Stakeholder management & communication
- Confident senior stakeholder engagement (clear asks, crisp updates, decision logs).
- Translating between business, data, engineering, and control functions—reducing “lost in translation” tax.
Continuous improvement & metrics
- Using metrics to improve flow: throughput, cycle time, lead time, defect trends, sprint predictability.
- Facilitating retros that lead to real change (experiments, owners, measurable outcomes).
- Strong problem-solving/root-cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, fishbone) applied to delivery issues.
Team culture & leadership presence
- Building psychological safety and inclusive collaboration across diverse teams and geographies.
- Conflict resolution and healthy challenge (keeping debates about ideas, not people).
- Coaching individuals (POs, Scrum Masters, Engineers) and growing delivery maturity over time.
