About this role

Meta is seeking an experienced public policy professional to join the Korea public policy team. This is a hybrid role spanning policy programs — designing and delivering initiatives that advance Meta's policy objectives and demonstrate our contribution to Korea's digital economy — and regulatory issues, leading engagement on the legislative and regulatory matters that most affect our products and the people who use them in Korea.
The person in this role will operate with a high degree of autonomy, act as a trusted advisor to cross-functional partners, and represent Meta credibly with senior external stakeholders. This is an individual contributor role that calls for sound judgment in navigating ambiguous policy situations, demonstrated through prior experience managing politically sensitive issues in a fast-moving and politically complex environment.

Responsibilities

Monitor, analyze and advise on Korean legislative and regulatory developments affecting Meta's products, including platform regulation, competition, content governance, privacy and data, AI, and telecommunications
Develop and execute engagement strategies with the National Assembly, ministries, and regulators, and articulate Meta's positions clearly and persuasively
Provide timely risk assessments and recommendations to product, legal, communications, and regional leadership, and translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable internal guidance
Draft submissions, position papers, briefing materials, and talking points for internal and external audiences in both Korean and English
Design, launch and manage policy programs and partnerships supporting Meta's objectives in Korea, working with government bodies, academia, industry associations, small businesses and civil society organizations
Own program strategy, budget, delivery, and measurement, and demonstrate impact to internal and external stakeholders
Build and sustain a network of coalitions and third-party voices, and identify opportunities to advance shared policy goals
Partner with regional and global policy colleagues to keep Korean positions consistent with Meta's global approach, and represent Korean market realities in global policy development
Work with communications, legal, partnership, and product teams to align external engagement with company priorities
Represent Meta at industry forums, government consultations, conferences, and public events
