Roles & Responsibilities

- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for piping dynamic stress analysis and vibration engineering.
- Perform and review dynamic and static piping stress analysis using CAESAR II or equivalent software.
- Assess piping systems for natural frequency, resonance, mode shapes, dynamic stresses, and fatigue analysis.
- Analyze dynamic loads from pumps, compressors, reciprocating equipment, PSV/PRV, pulsation, and transient events.
- Evaluate water hammer, steam hammer, slug flow, FIV, and AIV and recommend mitigation measures.
- Review piping layouts and identify systems requiring dynamic analysis and vibration assessment.
- Design and optimize dynamic supports, guides, anchors, snubbers, and restraints.
- Evaluate dynamic forces and moments transferred to supports, structures, and connected equipment.
- Check equipment nozzle loads against applicable project, vendor, and industry requirements.
- Investigate piping vibration and dynamic integrity issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Recommend practical engineering solutions for excessive vibration, resonance, and fatigue.
- Review piping stress calculations, reports, isometrics, layouts, and support drawings prepared by engineers.
- Develop and review piping stress and dynamic analysis methodologies, criteria, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable ASME, API, project specifications, and client standards.
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, rotating equipment, structural, instrumentation, and operations teams.
- Review vendor data related to equipment excitation forces, pulsation, vibration, and nozzle loads.
- Provide technical support during FEED, detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and site troubleshooting.
- Lead technical reviews and provide SME input during design/model reviews, HAZOPs, and client meetings.Mentor piping stress engineers and perform technical/quality reviews of engineering deliverables.
- Support resolution of technical queries, deviations, site issues, and engineering optimization related to piping dynamic stress.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in piping stress and dynamic analysis, preferably in EPC, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Power projects.
- Proven experience as a Piping Stress Engineer/Lead/SME in EPC, oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or process industries.
- Advanced proficiency in CAESAR II and strong knowledge of ASME B31.3/B31.1, API standards, and applicable industry codes.
- Extensive experience in piping vibration, dynamic loads, resonance, fatigue, FIV/AIV, water hammer, pulsation, and equipment- induced loads.
- Strong knowledge of piping supports, restraints, snubbers, equipment nozzle loads, and dynamic load evaluation.
- Proven experience in technical leadership, design review, troubleshooting, and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and client-management skills.
- Professional certification such as PE/Chartered Engineer and experience with major Oil & Gas client standards are an advantage.
