About this role

Join our contract team in Victoria and help support the safe, reliable and compliant operation of electrical systems across an operational wind farm. This site-based role will see you provide technical leadership across high-voltage (HV), low-voltage (LV) and DC assets, while contributing to improved electrical safety, asset performance and long-term reliability.

This is primarily a site-based position in Victoria. The role includes field inspections, HV switching and maintenance activities, and may involve working at heights, in remote locations and in varying weather conditions. Travel to site, on-call participation and after-hours support may be required.

What you'll do

- Maintain HV safety governance, access and switching procedures, safe approach distances, arc-flash assessments and electrical risk controls.
- Authorise and control HV switching activities, including switching sheets, isolation plans, earthing procedures and operator authorisations.
- Issue and cancel HV access permits, sanctions for test and test permits, while verifying recipient competency.
- Support preventative, condition-based and major maintenance programs across transformers, protection systems, switchgear, earthing systems, DC systems and other critical electrical assets.
- Oversee critical testing programs, review results and approve the safe return to service of equipment.
- Lead technical investigations into protection trips, transformer and cable faults, earth faults and arc-flash incidents, and develop corrective and preventative actions.
- Plan and support outages, commissioning activities, system modifications and re-energisation strategies.
- Lead system restoration and emergency switching responses following grid or major protection events.
- Identify reliability trends, support lifecycle replacement strategies and contribute to maintenance budgets, cost estimates and the five-year asset strategy.
- Engage closely with the client, Contract Manager, Operational Manager, MC Manager and Site Leads.

About You

- A degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Registration with BIL and the relevant state regulator as a licensed electrical engineer.
- Demonstrated experience with HV and LV electrical systems in energy, utilities or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of HVOA/EOA requirements, Victorian electrical safety regulations and Blue Book compliance.
- Technical knowledge of protection systems, fault analysis, transformers, generators, motors, earthing, bonding, lightning protection and overhead line reticulation.
- Experience with DC systems, UPS and battery technologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and independent decision-making skills.
- A clear commitment to safety, compliance, technical accuracy and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with clients, contractors and operational stakeholders.
