What you will be doing?
- Develop and lead sourcing activities from proposal to contract signature, to include negotiation, performing cost analysis by creating Total Cost or Acquisition/ Product Cost Lifecycle Models, and building business cases to select high performing supplier’s that meet the Rolls-Royce cost, quality, delivery, sustainability, management, and technology objectives.
- Lead contract management, including drafting, negotiating, and finalising agreements with suppliers to ensure compliance and optimise terms.
- Manage the process of Identifying, assessing, and mitigating commercial risks within the supply chain to ensure continuity and resilience.
- Working with the relevant functions and stakeholders to lead and contribute to building and maintaining category strategies within the designated category to draw value for Rolls-Royce, whilst keeping up to date with key market trends and technologies
- Experience of managing supplier relationships and in contract supplier management, including supplier performance management, leading cost reduction activities, and resolving commercial issues.

- Experience of working as a buyer in a regulated or complex industry demonstrates strong experience in strategic sourcing as well as managing supplier relationships and in-contract supplier management.
- You will need to understand risk management and building a resilient supply chain
- Proven track record of successful negotiations, coupled with strong commercial and financial skills with an understanding of Total Cost of Acquisition/Product Cost Lifecycles and associated levers/analytics.
- Excellent communication, influencing, relationship management skills with focus on drawing value for the company.
- Passion to drive change and make a difference combined with ability to solve complex problems, demonstrating digital awareness and analytical capability
- Experience of reviewing and drafting contracts
Key Accountability:
- Execute the category strategy, strategic sourcing, contract execution, claim & dispute management, and commercial requirements for the aligned suppliers, and draft internal escalation proposal as needed for approval and in charge of supplier cascade down communications.
- Manage the commercial disputes and claims with the aligned suppliers to optimal output for RR
- Manage day to day contractual tasks to resolution across the aligned category supply chain, including order management, lead time, LTA price management/amendment, spot buy RFQ & negotiation, CoS dwg management, design change, raw material coverage, MOQs, contractual cut-overs and alignment of SAs/ POs to supplier shares etc.
- Commercial leger update and MPV management.
- Process purchasing award summaries and purchasing documents for suppliers directly related to production material.
- Assist in the development of International Commodity Team strategies that align with Global/Regional Purchasing and Logistics Objectives
- Manage cross-functional projects on time and within budget.
- Develop sourcing lists and monitor supplier performance.
- Aggressively resolve all pricing, invoicing and contract related issues with the suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, terms and annual contracts with suppliers.
- Support procurement data analysis, e.g., spending/demand, communication coordination and other ad hoc assignment as per needed from line manager.
- Support TCO/Technical cost-out activities by working with ME to score supplier’s cost performance based on cost-out initiatives and its implementation.
- Manage any day-to-day tasks working within our brand new system
- Maintain open communication between internal departments, management, and suppliers. Work with SMT, Program and financial team etc. stakeholders to deliver a high performing supply chain.
Key Experience & Qualifications
- BA degree or equivalent in a business related field or CIPS qualification
- Experience working as a Strategic Buyer with site operational experience.
- A team player with a can-do attitude who can work in a range of teams and stakeholders.
- A proven track record of delivering results; business and commercial acumen
- Be comfortable to work in a cross-culture and functional environment with strong self-mapping capability to solve problems; willingness to learn and be part of a matrix and diversified team.
- Good planning/project management skill
- Demonstrate cost conscious behavior by optimizing our operational cost where possible, and ensure compliance to our process
- Aviation/Engineering background for raw material and/or metal processing would be a plus
