Job Description
Role Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Architect to join our Buildings + Places (B+P) team. The role involves developing innovative, sustainable, and high-quality architectural solutions while managing projects through all design and delivery phases. The successful candidate will combine strong design capabilities with technical expertise and project coordination skills to ensure the successful execution of complex building projects.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Project Delivery
- Develop architectural concepts, schematic designs, detailed designs, and construction documentation.
- Deliver high-quality architectural solutions that meet client objectives, technical requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare design presentations, reports, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Ensure adherence to project budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
Project Management & Coordination
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including structural, MEP, landscape, and specialist consultants.
- Manage project deliverables from concept through construction administration.
- Conduct design reviews and resolve technical issues during project execution.
- Monitor project progress and proactively mitigate design and delivery risks.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Interface with clients, contractors, consultants, and authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in client meetings, workshops, and presentations.
- Support business development activities including proposal preparation and project pursuits.
Technical Excellence
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Review drawings and specifications for quality, accuracy, and constructability.
- Incorporate sustainable design principles and innovative technologies into project solutions.
- Stay updated with emerging architectural trends, materials, and digital delivery tools.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture (B.Arch.).
- Master's Degree in Architecture is preferred.
- Registered Architect with relevant professional body/council registration.
- 10-15 years of architectural design and project delivery experience (depending on grade level).
- Experience in commercial, mixed-use, institutional, hospitality, healthcare, data center, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure projects is advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM workflows, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of Navisworks, Enscape, Lumion, Rhino, or similar visualization tools is desirable.
- Strong understanding of building systems, construction methodologies, and design standards.
- Familiarity with sustainable design frameworks and green building principles.
