Vehicle Test Engineer is responsible for End-to-End software and product testing, vehicle testing for automotive telematics product.

How You’ll Make An Impact
As Vehicle Test Engineer, you will lead the conceptualization, design, implementation and testing of technologies, tools, or processes while consistently demonstrating technical expertise and ingenuity. You are able to plan, define, and execute projects without supervision.
This role will be part of a group of Test Domain Architects working closely with the broader team and the Global Strategy and Process Lead. The mission of this team is to grow our Connectivity Test Coordination team operating from our strategic sites providing experienced and dynamic team members to support multiple roles across our portfolio of global projects.
What You Will Do
- Responsible to coordinate and perform the vehicle testing activities at customer place.
- Coordinate from various team hardware, mechanical, software, device, compatibility, cloud/backend and mobile apps.
- Responsible for vehicle test at customer location and support for customer activities
- Good communication with customer and Harman colleagues at multiple locations
- Experience in TEST AUTOMATION is added advantage, especially on Python.
- Hands-on expertise with Robot Framework.
- Experience with REST APIs, Git, Linux, Jenkins, DevOps, AWS Cloud Services and CI/CD.
- Responsible for Sanity Test, System Test, End-to-End feature test, OTA test, compatibility test and device functionality tests for various customers and projects. Ensure tests are completed and publish the report timely
- Participate in analysis of logs for any issues reported during testing.
- Vehicle level integration test with various system level ECUs
- Support Full System test of the device FW before every factory or maintenance release that includes KPI, Performance, security, power management, state management based on ignition states, GPS, sensor and various functionalities. Ensure tests are completed and publish the report.
- Supporting vehicle compatibility testing – tracking, execution and reporting.
- Test support and live debugging support for development of new features or Change requests.
- Experience with CANoe, PCAN – CAN simulation tools
- Experience with Telematics, Automotive based products testing and Qualification.
- Strong knowledge on SOFTWARE Testing concepts
- Connect with various stakeholders of the product for any clarification on the requirements/Expectations from device, cloud, app and web portal.
- Understanding the client functional/Non-Functional requirements, high level design documents provided by client
What Makes You A Strong Fit
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other similar specialization
- At least 5+ year of experience as a Test Engineer in Automotive especially on telematics domain
- Experience with Bench and Vehicle level tests
- Good understanding of Telematics requirements, Embedded System and Automotive Products
- Experience with Software Testing (white box/grey box) and System Testing (black box)
- Experience with CAN simulation tools, Telematics feature testing like Ethernet, MQTT, UDS, OTA, GNSS, E-Call, Positioning, 4G/5G, Wifi, V2X and Security
- End to end test with other system level ECUs
- Experience in API test
- Experience with data analysis, logs, tracing, Vehicle Integration test
- Good English communication skills both written and verbal. Japanese language skills welcome.
- HW setup knowledge, also Telematic/Infotainment systems with knowledge on CAN, Diagnostics and Telephony
- Good experience in test methods, processes, error management and tools.
- Familiar with Jira, Confluence, MS Office, and database administration tools
- Team player skills with a “can do” attitude.
Bonus Points if You Have
- ISTQB Certification
- Knowledge of Automotive Testing Standard (A-SPICE)
- Some experience in Automation and Scripting (Python)
- Working knowledge of Android and Linux
- Experience in Agile/SCRUM
- HW experience with configuration different setups
- Knowledge in ALM is beneficial.
- Hands of AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot.
