Division/Program Summary:
Plant Operations is committed to supporting the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s focus on protecting and promoting the health of all New Yorkers by providing comprehensive building services. These services include multiple building trades responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the agency’s owned and leased sites within the 5 boroughs.

Position Summary:
Plant Operations is seeking a dependable and organized Stock Worker to support inventory operations across multiple agency facilities. The Stock Worker will report directly to the Procurement and Inventory Supervisor and will be responsible for receiving, storing, tracking, distributing, and delivering materials, supplies, equipment, and tools used to support building operations. This position requires regular travel between multiple Plant Operations inventory and facility locations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive, unpack, count, inspect, store, and distribute materials, supplies, equipment, and tools.
- Check deliveries against purchase orders, packing slips, or invoices and report shortages, damaged items, or other discrepancies.
- Pick and prepare materials and supplies for distribution to Plant Operations staff and facilities.
- Load and unload supplies and equipment at storage facilities and delivery locations.
- Deliver and transfer materials and supplies for distribution to Plant Operations staff and facilities.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with physical and perpetual inventory counts.
- Ensure stockrooms and other storage areas are clean, safe, organized, and properly maintained.
- Label, organize, and store inventory so that materials can be readily located and accounted for.
- Assist with tracking the receipt, issuance, transfer, and disposition of inventory.
- Safely operate carts, material-handling equipment, and other equipment necessary to perform assigned duties.
- Coordinate with the Procurement and Inventory Supervisor regarding inventory needs, shortages, deliveries, and discrepancies.
- Ensure chemical supplies are properly received, labeled, stored, and organized in accordance with established safety and storage requirements.
- Maintain current Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for chemical products in inventory and ensure SDS records are readily available and accessible to staff as required.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the Stock Worker civil service title.
